a lot of hearsay an innuendo up top, don't know where the youngins are provably better without jack as cozens has looked good all season and mitts was a pleasant surprise when he got the call...they've gotten better because the worst coach in sabres history got canned and the new one is letting them play...skinner and dahlin were freed with the firing of ralph and joker found some chemistry playing off a revived dahlin...asplund finally got a chance to play and has made a statement...

i don't know where all this is coming from

It’s almost like some players will perform well when they’re actually given the opportunity to do so

We’ve also started getting the bounces and some saves.

Sbroads posted it pages back but they analytics are mostly the same but the sv% and sh% are back to normal levels and we aren’t incredibly snakebitten.

Now in saying that, it is definitely attributed to Don letting them play free and not all chances are created equal. However we are still getting out chanced and happen to be finishing more of our lack of chances.

85%

The pegula's are in long term on kagm. They let him hire his coaches. Guy's that are instructors.

They let kagm being in an associate gm to handle some of the "GM'ing"

This is his team now and 4 -2 -2 is impressive. All things considered its %.500

What's your %?

- Boss34

Sounds good to me. Would be nice if they stumble into something good.

We also haven’t been able to build a decent team around Eichel either though
So it is fair to ask how long we continue this massive failure?
Or whether we should scrap it & start with a new “core”

- jdfitz77

I’m ready to build around Cozens, Mitts and Dahlin. Eichel and Rinehart gotta go. return on Eichel has to be a top 6 center. Anything else you can get will be pure profit.

so you're willing to take a top-6 center for jack and say goodbye

no one does, it goes without saying but I literally did say exactly that.

I just don't ever see him winning a cup here. I think we're better off building around Dahlin/Cozens at this point. I am at the point where I think not trading him will set this franchise back another 10 years.

Fair enough. You’re entitled to your opinion.

I respectfully disagree.

I’m willing to entertain the idea of trading Jack,
Bc we can’t seem to build a team around him that can even contend for the playoffs- let alone challenge for the Cup

But we better get a hell of a lot more than just a “top6” Center

The return would need to be something like

Yes. San Jose or Calgary would be crazy not to trade Couture or Monahan for him right? Someone like that.

It’s either elite forward and scraps.

Or competent roster lacking elite talent.

Seems like robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Great, you’ll go in knowing the deal works. He’s got a hefty contract. That’s going to hurt his value. I think it will be exciting to go in with a whole new team. They will be in a better position than Vegas at expansion draft and will be able to get at least two new pieces of exactly what they want for Eichel and Rinehart.

That’s quite the assumption

Cozens & Dahlin aren’t “elite” talent?
Dahlin at least is
Byfield (or whoever the main piece we’d get in an Eichel trade) should be
Our top3 pick this year could be

And if we trade Jack, Sam, etc etc....
then we’ll be in the running for the elite talent coming out in a very strong 2022 draft
And probably the 2023 draft as well....
Both drafts we should have multiple 1sts in if we go rebuild again

Isn't Granato's coaching record since he took over 4-7-3?

When does Dahlin want out ? He probably didn’t sign up for another 2-3 years of sucking either.

The Sabres can compete next year with a competent offseason.

Sakic trades Zadorov for Saad and two second rounders for Toews.

Hopefully GMKA and his new look FO can figure it out.

I kinda like the team concept. Maybe eichel brings in 3 solid forwards and a goalie?

La seems like the perfect trade partner.

Kopitar and eichel competes with the avs for years.

If the avs get eichel, dynasty time imo.

Byfield to start the convo

I think he is a baby that doesn’t want to play for the Sabres and probably never did. They haven’t been good with him on the team, he was anointed too much power and nothing you can do to strip it without it getting even more toxic than I perceive it to be. If you don’t agree, that’s fine with me. He’ll probably be great on a different team and that is fine with me too.

Probably, I was referring to the last 8 games.
4-2-2 is most likely wrong as well 🤔

Probably thrive on a top team with leadership (C) already in place. A good friend core already established.

Just show up and play eichel. Maybe good back to #15?

Spot on with the too much power 👍

Another assumption- but I’ll play along....
if Dahlin is gonna want out in 2-3years, then why bother keeping Eichel ?
Hell.... what’s keeping Eichel here when we can’t even build a top24 team in the league around him?

You said if we traded Eichel then we wouldn’t have “elite” talent
But we will have opportunity to get more

And not that i want to get rid of him,
but a restart on a rebuild that gmtm screwed up could give us the chance to do it again the right way- especially with “franchise” forwards like Shane Wright & Conor Bedard & others coming up in drafts we’d likely be picking high in

And if we had to trade Dahlin bc he wants out too,
then that would just give us even more picks in these upcoming drafts
