Ok - here's a life example

Boss is 109lbs as a freshman
Graduated at 142ish.

Bullied like most student's in high school.

Senior year , I'm getting picked on by "jr" also a senior.
He is upset about girl drama and my choice for the prom.
My choice was his ex girlfriend, who was a great date.

He grunt's strangely and breathes heavy everytime I walk past him for a few weeks. (Like he's pissed and gonna do something) Every lunch, every gym class. Every eye contact. A few of my friends tried to fight him, on my behalf. It got really stupid.

He was my size and I finally had enough.
I turn to my buddy at the lunch table and say " I've had enough" "it's about to go down". He know's what I've been going thru.

I make eye contact across the cafeteria as he "fake" breath's heavy and stairs me down. I "fake" breath heavy and grunt back.

J.r. slams his tray and run's across the cafeteria to fight me. I punched him as hard as I could, knocked him down, blew up his eye, broke my watch band in a few spots from the impact.
I let him off the hook, because I was young.

He get's up and tries again. (The whole time I hear my english teacher / lunch monitor screaming for the gym teacher)

I grab his face with my entire hand, put my leg behind his and slammed his face off the lunch room floor. No mercy. It sounded like a melon exploding. Blood every.

Staples needed to repair. Hospital visit for him and my Dad having to make sure the kid was ok and we weren't getting sued.

5 day in school suspension and a really sore hand.

Moral of the story.

Nobody wanted any from the boss. 50+ people saw for themselves. I wasn't looking for any either.

He was a laughingstock and everybody wanted some.

Me - millar . Sore hand and probably proud of himself. Timber did drop the gloves and initiate the fight.

Tage - JR. Face hurts and nobody is impressed.

- Boss34

Sounds like you fluffed him. Funny we want toughness on are team, unfortunately we don't have much right know. Kid steps up, something a tough person supposedly on are team won't ever do, but he hits. But know Tallness is taking sh!t for doing something some people have wanted, he didn't win so what, he's not a fighter, but showed his teammates that he will be there for them.

Great that tall timbers did something against a noted fighter.
Bad that we have nobody else.

He faught for the code. Not his teammates.

All I'd say is that sometimes the fight is more important than the outcome. You don't just fight because you know you're going to win. You fight because it's the right thing to do.

Tage took his licks, but guess what, if Tall guy gets run and Asplund is out there, I guarantee Asplund will jump that guy because Tage has done it for him.

That's the point

Meanwhile Eakin just stands there like a dumb (frank) when Dahlin gets run

thompson instead should have just simply failed numerous breakout passes so he could keep hitting people in the corners

No, soft players will not jump anyone. Asplund will not fight. My guarantee is he gets his ass whooped worse than tage.

That's the point.

We need players that have DNA that allows them to get pissed and beat someone down when needed.

Timber the vampire is not that guy. He doesnt even use his size when playing.

Like d8go said once:

Just give me a few shifts in that frame.

Or something like that , from someone else 😉

My dad is a Risto fan and it’s to the point that I don’t even bring him up when we talk hockey because I just can’t figure it out anymore

And he’s not a casual fan either

I simply can’t understand how anyone can think he’s a good player anymore

If you're arguing for tougher players who can also play hockey, I wholeheartedly agree. If you're arguing for Andrew Peters I completely disagree.

What Tage did is good for team morale and comradery. Those Sabres players don't care that he got his ass beat. He did something. Good for him

Sound's like your Dad is a fine fellow 🙂

Probably likes guy's that go all out , game in and game out. Not guy's with God given talent who half ass it.

Never hear a bad thing from the coaches.

How do you or Swords know what he fought for. Funny for a guy who supposedly played Hockey, could it be that he fought because of his teammate and to earn respect in a young locker room.

I respectfully disagree.

What tage did is definitely more respectable than eakins.

It isn't going to stop the Bruins from cheap shotting us.

He played out of character. Good.

He isn't bad though... hes just not a #1 and thats how hes always been played.....

Every team in the league would love what Risto brings to the table. But I doubt they play him as their #1

Timber hesitates. It's not anger ,its obligation. Big difference. It was code.

I'm sure his teammates and asplund respect and appreciate his effort. Good on him.

Again, it did nothing to prevent the cheap shots.
He got beat down, badly

Bet the bruins are less affraid of him now.
He's all size....

Borgen is everything that people think Risto is.

Risto’s physicality in the grand scheme of things is null and void because hockey is won on the scoreboard and when he is on the ice we are giving up more goals then we are scoring (kind of like Tage getting that one punch in while getting his bell rung last night)

Well most non fighters do, even if it was supposedly code like you said he still did it. It something this team hasn't done until the youngins started playing. Do I want someone who can play and drop them, of course I do, but I also want a team that shows team toughness and they came together to do that in the 2nd period.

I wouldn't suggest taking advice on fighting from a guy who just said he was between 110-140lbs in high school...

Tage stood up for a teammate. It was blatantly obvious. Good for him.

Now, grab his shoulder, thumb goes through the collar, keep that left extended to keep him at bay and let's throttle em next time!!!
