The reason that Donnie will be our coach next year:

Interview Question #1: Do you have the same philosophy about offense and attacking that the interim coach has?

Trade Sam for a goalie and get a solid 2w and one real vet dman. Should be able to land a top 6 wing for Ristolinen. The D is going to have to come via FA
- lulags

I agree Reinhart needs to be traded. He doesn't fit in. Trade Risto for a winger and Sam for a defender add Eichel and a few cheap UFAs to fill the holes and we might have a playoff team.

Don't really want to sign Ullmark he has proven not to be durable unless we are bringing in a suitable backup. That being said we will need a starting goalie if its not Ullmark.

Buy low on Kuemper. there is no reason to trade a premium asset like 23 for a goalie with the exception of maybe Gibson. That's bad asset management.

Reider and Eakin both had about 9.5 minutes ESTOI. Everyone else had about 13-15 minutes. So that's neat.

Matt Irwin had about 14 minutes ESTOI while Dahlin and Joker led with 18.5 minutes.

- TheSabresTaco

Irwin may have permanently shelved Okie though.

So he’s got that going for him. (Too soon, I know).

Skating, although his skating is less noticeable when Jack is in the lineup. But that leads into the whole conversation of how he is a complimentary player and you can't pay complimentary players big money.

Almost like someone mentioned dahlin / joker vs. Ovi? 🤔

It's going to be tough to not remove the interim tag from Granato at this point.

I still have my reservations about what both he and this team can do when there is actual pressure and are actual expectations, but I think he's earned the right to find out, barring a catastrophic collapse, of course.

He's definitely slower than the pace the team played at last night, but its not like he's cody franson. Maybe if it was noticeably hurting the team.

Try to sign him for 6 to 6.5 mil. 7+ and we're gettin sketchy.

he should have gotten 6x6 on his last contract

The Maple Leafs lifting the Cup on Buffalo ice would be the worst thing to happen during this pandemic by a mile. I don't give a poop how insensitive that sounds.

I think it is already done. The "what will they do when the games matter" question is valid but I think it is answered because what they are doing is sustainable. They aren't doing it with a goalie standing on his head. I can't imagine them not keeping him.

Do you actually watch the games?

Sammie is slow. Still.
The new system is upbeat with speed.

Almost as irrelevant as skimmer. 😀

Sad part is okposo has finally been playing well enough to justify a roster spot. Irwin is terrible at hockey, I can't believe we beat a 1st place team with tokarski and Irwin.

True, but he doesn't drive play. The problem is that he is going to be looking to be paid as if he was a player that can carry a line and we are now seeing once and for all that he isn't that person. He is a fine player... but not for what he will be asking.

A point that's typically neglected is how well Sam plays with Jack, how they read off of one another. Jack's had a lot of line mates, Taylor Hall included, and at the end of the day, Reinhart is always his best line mate. Should count for something. And no, I'm not advocating for 8x8. Sam should be paid like the top 6 forward he is. 6ish mil by 5 years.

That's right. King28 will replicate his points at a third of the price. I'm such a moron.
