I think you need to cut the Canucks a bit of slack. Some of these players may have been through the biggest scare of their lives. Quarantined since March 30/31, 1 skate 1 practice, then commencing Friday 19 games in 31, pffft eh.

I’m curious what everyone’s take would be on which of the reclamation projects will be resigned (by their current team) at the end of their current contract

My guess is
Gaudette — 75% (by Chicago, end of this season)
Highmore — 40% (by Canucks, end of next season)
Bowey — 10% (by Canucks, end of next season)

I don’t think Chicago would have made the trade for Gaudette if they didn’t see a possibility of it working, but they are still in the playoff race and AG might have limited ice time.

Bowey is a long shot to still be with the Canucks as he will be the D exposed in expansion draft and might look the least unappealing of the Canucks on the list.

Highmore has a chance, but needs to be better than he has been to stick beyond his current contract.

It’s the Canucks way.
Half the people thought the season should have been canceled from the get go and the other half think the players are whiners for questioning the rationale around forcing the team to finish.

Some have championed both opinions even.

What a whiner.

How would reading someones words on the internet allow me to realize that, particularly on the heels of Millers interview, carry on after watching the panel on SN.

Because he literally just called me out for suggesting it was an excuse.

Which by the way was also not serious.

Have a good one, relax, take it easy.

He has the ability to be way more dangerous

He has a one timer, and a substantially better shot.

Hughes edge work and skating are elite, but it still doesnt help help when the other team knows you dont have the one timer in your arsenal and you have to stop all passes before shooting it

Wonder what OJ value will be at the end of the season? Enough to trade schmidt?

Pretty much a no brainer now that we've got Bowey.

Sounds good.
TBH i haven't seen much of Rathbone beyond the odd highlight here and there.

I have a feeling that we won't see Rathbone and Hughes on the same squad long term.

To your above point, Hughes appears to have been working on being more defensively responsible this year, i can see him working on his shot as time goes on.

Yeah I don't think i'd be in a huge rush to play 19 games in 31 days on the heels of having caught Covid.
