I go back and forth with Zucker. He was killing it when he first got here. 12 points in 15 games. Then he was one of our better players against MTL. He’s not having a great season this year, but 10 points in 25 games isn’t awful, so I think many of us are probably jumping the gun a bit.
That said I think he’s the best candidate along with either Matheson or Petts to be moved in order to address the cap issues next year. - Rinosaur
I think the big thing with Zucker is he was a 40-45 point guy that got 10-15 pp points.
So drop his pp points to 5 or so and now he’s a 30-35 point guy.
10 in 25 is a 33 point pace. |

He’s been bad with everyone besides Sidney Crosby. Since Sullivan refuses to play him with Sid, he doesn’t fit him. I think he’s a good player, but just not here. - Victoro311
Sounds a lot like a manager firing an employee. Listen you're a great person BUT... |

Yeah, getting off the 1st unit definitely hits his numbers, but I still think he's a good player and I'm not really going to hate on him. That said, for the money the Pens are better off moving him in the off-season to free up the space which they need to do anyway. He has to be protected I believe because of his clause, so I'd try pull a Fleury with him.
We'll have a better idea when/if this team is healthy how the McCann/Carter dynamic plays out and if it looks like McCann will play C, then the Pens need to figure out about getting a LW.

Curious based on your give him a chance mantra. Do you regularly watch the games? - Feds91Stammer
I do. Zucker sucked last night, particularly. Out of position he was BAD. He did play well a few games with Rodrigues, McCann and Zohorna. |

Yeah 30-35 is still good production especially for a middle 6er with limited pp time. But yeah bang for buck on the cap hit isn’t there. I’d want someone more dynamic for that cap space. |

And this is always a problem when filling out your top 6 with players who succeeded elsewhere but aren't on your top PP here.
Zucker has been about a 40 ES point/year player the past 4 years. 46, 46, 28, 29 in 60 (roughly 40 in 82). So he's been ahead of that and recently but hasn't this year.
It's hard finding guys to fill out your top 6 when the top PP takes so much time. Just look at McCann. How much of his increased production is tied to getting on the top PP? |

Its night and day how he looked with Sid/looks without him. I'm over him too and could totally see him being traded...or perhaps picked up in expansion? - MattStrat
Blows my mind that Sully won't try something different for a least 5 games.

Looks pretty damn good on paper if that first line can click.

Similar to Brassard's drop in points, which makes sense. Just sucks given the price they paid for him. |

Sully isn’t big on changing things and we will see if Trotz or whoever completely exposes him in the playoffs again. |

See that looks awesome to me. Looks better. There's just been some classic Sully stubbornness at a play again this season.

I don't hate Zucks at all just don't think he's fitting in well anywhere but with Sid...and since its established he looks great with Sid and Guentz looks great with Geno...whats the problem here hahaha
