Have a few buds that are Phish-heads. Heard some of their live stuff, speaking of 45 minute songs.
Yeah, they really aren't bad, never got into the Dead or those jam bands. I'd pick Phish as my favorite from that genre.

I'm into a pretty wide array. Today's listens were Russian Circles, the new Balmorea album, Howling Rain (which you might like) and Radiohead.
I've heard Umphrey's a few times, not bad. Just not the sort of thing I gravitate to but don't mind if it's on. I like spacerock more, that's my long jam style.

I was dragged to an umphreys show at Jones beach by my phish friends once who used the same tactic to get me there. Don’t remember the show itself much but I remember going into the parking lot after and hearing hissing, dragging metal, and the scurrying sound of footsteps all around me. It was wooks running around the lot with tanks of nitrous. I guess they keep moving to avoid getting caught
