This team is so young that players that have been playing for a couple years seem old. Weird perspective created by being the youngest team in the NHL (Devils don't count.....ever) - NYRCeph
I just looked Del Zotto up, he is only 30. I thought he was like 34. |

Yea exactly.
It's just why I am not going to panic over having too many good ones and having to worry about moving some to create spots for others. Not all will make it - TPC
I also want to point out that this could also be used as evidence to trade. Chicago and the Kings traded Cam Barker and Erik Johnson respectively. Now it looks like slam dunks, but at the time they were viewed as huge pieces to trade. Even the Pens trading someone like Gologoski could be viewed as trading someone trying to get the cup.

Lol somehow I confused Erik and Jack, which was a bigger slam dunk by the Kings to unload. Just think somehow JJ got Carter

Yes, The Kings actually went out and traded for him. That's how highly once upon a time the league viewed him.

Just looking at the 2005 draft and noticed that Kopitar went right before Staal. You think the Rangers would have picked him if still available? |

the Rangers traded up from 16 to 12 to grab Staal, I think they loved him
I really have no idea if they would taken Kopitar though

Oh JRR. What a rabbit hole to go down. Not the good kind of hole, it's the MDW's girl kind of hole.
I've done that what if game. |

What if's are always a fun game.
Staal was a very good pick. He was very good part of the Ranger's shutdown D that won many playoff games. No regrets there. |

Take Kopitar, still grab Gaborik in free agency... Profit? |

Offense galore.
What would have the D looked like without Girardi and Staal shutdown crew. They were amazing for years. |

if we take Kopitar, do we still sig Gomez and Drury to contracts? do we not get Mcdonaugh then or have the space to sign Gaborik.
So many questions in this time warp
