I have a problem with any civil rights being broken.
Don't think it will hold up in court also, but how many will fight it.
It's like a jail sentence before being convicted.

Refer to northern Italy when the pandemic began. Without measures to flatten the curve, hospitals collapse. Doctors are begging people to wear masks and social distance.

A lot of police forces (Waterloo being one of them) are coming out and saying they have no intention of randomly stopping people or vehicles to determine why they are out and about.

My guess is most will follow suit.

Yeah, that part is stupid. It's unfortunate because it poisons the well of the overall idea of distancing. They should be breaking up crowds and making masks mandatory everywhere outside the home.

The blanket order around outdoor spaces doesn't make sense.

Unfortunately this whole thing is driven by people who aren't able to follow the basics of science and step up to their civic responsibilities so now we all have to suffer.

Random stops to check for drunk driving is allowed. But there’s no way in hell cops can start asking where you’re going, what you’re doing and fining you for not tell them.

Whoever was forced to write the legislation would have told them that. Legislative Council to Cabinet would have refused to approve it and would have formally advised government it was not constitutional. But they went ahead anyway.

You’re allowed to do dumb things. You can close parks. You can impose fines. But you can’t do this.

As long as people are following best practices, I think people being in an situation like a cabin is safer.

What bothers me more is the people who suddenly are born again rights warriors just because they feel hard done by if asked to cover their face during a respitory pandemic. I know a few people who are all indignant about why should they have to do anything? It makes no sense to me why they don't want to, other than just some sort of oppositional defiance disorder

Yep. There are signs saying do not sit on this seat, in order to space people out, but (frank)heads just ignore it. People take their masks off. It's (frank)ing stupid.

I do love the empty grocery stores though, I love it. I would be willing to stand in line for low-capacity shopping even when this is over. It's beautiful. I'm going to miss that part.
