Whoever was forced to write the legislation would have told them that. Legislative Council to Cabinet would have refused to approve it and would have formally advised government it was not constitutional. But they went ahead anyway.

I live in an area where this mentality is prominent, and there have been a number of high profile suicides locally to back it up. It's true, there are increases in these areas due to restrictions.

But i disagree with the idea its worse than the virus and just cause to say to hell with restrictions. The virus and the long term effects are the bigger problem, and a crippled health care system is the nuclear warhead socially and economically.

That, and we have the benefit of privilege in Canada in that we have zero idea what an actual lockdown looks like. People kicking and screaming in Alberta because you can only go to church at 15% capacity and can only drink on patios while numerous countries around the world are having people wear GPS bracelets while not allowed to leave their houses for months. We are entitled at the end of the day...
