One of the areas Ford franked-the-pooch.

People in essential jobs - especially those dealing with public - should have had higher priority. Pretty sure that's where majority of spread is coming from. At least in Toronto it is.

Nova Scotia distributed the vaccine that way.

I'm so happy this thing showed me who around me is such an ignorant, selfish banana eater that they wouldn't step up and wear a mask, distance or get vaccinated. This event flushed out so many (frank)os who can now go (frank) themselves forever.

I am trying to ignore it also, with less success than you. I follow Isaac Bogoch on Twitter and generally agree with what he says. My problem is that I get triggered by the endless left-wing bumhole who take every single topic he raises, deralis it and blames Ford.

I am not fan of the way the province opened stuff up and this happened. I also recognize that they were hearing it from the other side when stuff was closed. So sick of hearing people say that Ontario has 2 million doses in the freezer. They don't. What they do have, right after they receive a shipment, is already allocated. The only one not "flying off the shelf" is AZ. Further, they have closed mass clinics because they ran out of vaccine, more than once. This is NOT a distribution problem. This is a problem not getting enough vaccine; Federal.

So, The province poop the bed opening up everything and not keeping everything shut down and putting a curfew in place. The Fed's messed up with very weak agreements to procure vaccine on a timely basis. Canada was 48th this morning in % Population fully vaccinated and 29th on people receiving one dose. We have WAY more ability to administer than we have available.

I took the AZ shot last Sunday morning. By 6PM, I was dealing with chills for 6 hours and a massive headache. For that evening, I had flu like symptoms and the headache persisted all day Monday and started to wear off by mid-day Tuesday. Not a fun experience, but necessary as an essential worker.

I didn’t see your question til later, but the wife works with unmasked kids on Monday with no Vax yet.

Yup, teachers got (frank)ed when they decided to make all the hot spots a priority regardless of age.

It is especially bad for a special ed. teacher.

The feds should have decided who was deemed essentially and who was not and then told the provinces they had to follow the designations.

PM sock boy wanted to be the hero here and absolve himself of any potential to be blamed for things like the argument about who should get the vaccines when from a who is essential and first priority etc.

I don't disagree but we'd have to absorb the trade-off.

With low vaccine supply the trade-off is 130,000 less vaccines for grandmas and grandpas ...which we know means higher fatalities.

Tough calls.

Do you really think Ford made this decision, in a bubble. This is the kind of mis-guided statement I am talking about.

Further, your premise ignores the huge rise in cases after holidays and after re-opening indoor gathering places.

How many large scale breakouts have you heard about from front-line workers. I would say it is about the same as the newsworthy blatant disregard for the rules that we hear so much about.

IF they followed this path right off the bat, literally nobody outside of LTC Health Workers and some of Toronto/North York/Peel would be vaccinated. Many people at risk for the most severe outcomes would be ignored.

She could have been. She chose to wait a couple weeks for Pfizer. I got mine when they rolled out AZ. As a 56 year old woman, she was not comfortable with AZ. I don't blame her.

So many people forget the other side of the argument.

They also forget the endless complaining when we were locked down in January.

The province has the capacity to administer WAY more vaccine than they have been given. People actually blame Ford for that also incredible.

Oh come on you know that’s not true, the feds can put rules in place around anything they are providing to provinces.

They do it with money all the time.

Even if they couldn’t they could do so with “recommendations to the provinces” around distribution they made public.

I just saw Turd-oh on TV bragging about how many more vaccines we will be getting in the future - while the scrolling message at the bottom of the screen says we are getting half of what we were supposed to be getting for this month.

His government has dropped the ball as much as anyone else, maybe more so.

This.

Ignorance has nowhere to hide during Covid. It's the only positive thing to happen during the pandemic.

I've cut a few people out of my life. Can't believe I wasted so much time and effort over the years being friendly with certain people that have turned out to be dumb fu3king douche nozzles.

Sorry but things don’t work that way at all. I spent way too much of my life directly involved in federal provincial relations and I can tell you that provinces do not give up their authority over running health care in their provinces.

The feds transfer money through the Canada Health Act that contains conditions re not opting out of OHIP and a lot of very specific, negotiated arrangements but the feds can’t just unilaterally change those.

In terms of vaccines, the feds have full authority to determine which are approved and have expert panels to make recommendations on priority groups.

Provinces set their own priorities. End of story. Boom. Book it. Additional annoying words.
