Not once (to my knowledge) has Ontario hit the projected #'s........they are always made with the "if we keep everything as it is now" caveat.

This entire thing has been handled poorly from the get go, from both the federal and provincial levels of government. Half-assed measures that are purely reactionary after the fact followed by partial re openings, only to lock down and put out stay at home orders again has really resulted in people losing faith in government.

They should have done it right from the get go and have been playing catch up (and putting on the smoke and mirrors show to some degree) since then.

Whatever, I'm tired of it as many others are too. I've hit the wall of being scared of the #'s now.

Just give me the damm vaccine.

I think you're right about this, and I feel the same way. But I also have a part of me that says this is easy to say from our perspective.

The issue is no one really knew what to do. You, me, government, sports, no one... There was no playbook on this.

Now we all have hindsight and thanks to God have social media so we are all virus experts and are tired of government doing it wrong.

I don't know, like I said... I do agree with you. Im tired of it too. I guess I just think the best path forward is still to abide by the precautions and restrictions and be patient, in the sense that they are (at least loosely) crafted off of medical experts and science and that's what really matters in the end.

The one thing I'm really sick of is the right wing nutjobs and their (frank)ing government conspiracy master plan bullpoop. These are the same minds that would have you believe the government can't tie their shoes, but yet have the ability to coordinate amongst themselves worldwide to completely (frank) humanity. I'd legit rather lick random door knobs and bumholes then listen to one more speech about that. 🤦🏻‍♂️

This.

Ignorance has nowhere to hide during Covid. It's the only positive thing to happen during the pandemic.

I've cut a few people out of my life. Can't believe I wasted so much time and effort over the years being friendly with certain people that have turned out to be dumb fu3king douche nozzles.

People that think stay-at-home orders are a hardship need to think about history. You can get food and entertainment delivered at your whim. Survivors of WW2 must laugh at this poop. Back then, a (frank)ing NUCLEAR WARHEAD could and did fall out of the (frank)ing sky on people. bumholes need to seriously get a grip on their poop and practice some gratitude. As calamities go, I'll take this one versus a lot of other options that have occurred.

Id really like to think I am completely in the middle of this and have to disagree.

I have to drive past a house with signs on their fence about the great reset, 99% survival rate, Media driven pandemic, fake news, virtue signalling. .. Every single morning on my way to work. That's the right wing nut jobs I'm talking about. The left wing nut jobs just seem to think it's practical to give everyone a million dollars to sit at home with not a care of where it comes from.

To me, the latter is unrealistic... The former needs a straightjacket. Big difference.

Oh you got yours?

All good now? Did you get the AZ?

Edit: nvm - i saw your responses 🤣

- Garnie

Yeah AZ isn't flying off the shelves.

This was also not a provincial issue. Canada approved AZ for over 55 only.

One could also note (and it has been noted) that the 55-60 non-essential workers are the only ones being asked to take the lesser, more dangerous of the vaccines.

The numbers tell me that AZ is safer than not getting a vaccine, but I don't love the provincial government or the federal government for that, even though I get why things have gone that way.

Sorry but things don’t work that way at all. I spent way too much of my life directly involved in federal provincial relations and I can tell you that provinces do not give up their authority over running health care in their provinces.

The feds transfer money through the Canada Health Act that contains conditions re not opting out of OHIP and a lot of very specific, negotiated arrangements but the feds can’t just unilaterally change those.

In terms of vaccines, the feds have full authority to determine which are approved and have expert panels to make recommendations on priority groups.

Provinces set their own priorities. End of story. Boom. Book it. Additional annoying words.

A+ entirely correct. Ontario has an inventory of unused supply of 1,212,847 shots at close of business yesterday. Between now and the end of the month they are scheduled to receive an additional 790,000 Pfizer doses, a reduced allotment of 224,000 shots from Moderna and 120,000 single dose vaccines from J and J.

Ontario can immediately ramp up daily jabs by nearly 50% to 150,000 per day. Starting the first week of May, the Pfizer weekly supply for Canada doubles to 2m doses per week. Moderna says it will meet its quarterly numbers and make up the delay and 4.1m Astrazenaca jabs are scheduled for delivery. We don't know the exact number for the J and J quarter but they are committed to deliver 10m single jabs before the end of September. Canada, in total, is projecting 48.5m doses by Canada day.

Most people do not realize that Canada, as a whole, is about 18 days behind the US in hitting a 35% first jab rate.

I believe both the federal and provincial governments have done a pretty good job in playing the hand they were dealt. I think the steam coming off of today is just a little bit of boil over from the frustration of more than 15 months of struggle.

Everybody needs to hang in there. We are much closer to the finishing line than it feels.

Aaaaaand here goes the unused supply BS again.

Most of it is AZ because of low uptake and the age restriction.
The rest is scheduled.

The province government is not just sitting on doses and closing clinics for the (frank) of it.

I couldn’t understand why everyone coming out the hospital wasn’t jumping up and down when they came out of the hospital. I was very controlled and dignified and just screamed “yes baby” at my wife who was quite a ways away. She pretended she didn’t know me. She’s quite good at it.

There is an element of truth to this, and times they both dropped the ball. Also, 14 months since any significant effect on society.

Ya, I've got three so far. One was an idiot in general so not completely unexpected, but the other two were a huge surprise.
