idk. The term of the contract is fine, just too many years. No reason to make that length of a commitment. I won't say players like Laughton are a dime a dozen, because that would be a slight, but when you have a team ready to make a run players of Laughton's ilk are available.

Well if you look at the younger players coming in, is it feasible that within 5 years the Flyers could be a contending team? And if so is Laughton the kind of player and leader that you want to have around your younger players as they develop? If so, it was a good signing.
