Always is right, other guys can’t produce because of lack of leadership obviously. We drafted #2 overall and the kid is a checking fourth line center, maybe if the leaders were better he’d be an all star. Rangers fans are laughing at us, this crap from Hayes is exactly why he was moved on from |

Carolina has been a top 5 team all year, where is it coming from that he isn't happy in Carolina? |

No one is without blame but they still produce and to me, Hayes disappearing act cratering their secondary offence has killed them. The Hayes-laughton-Tk line was devestating at times last year for extended periods. |

Looking at the game logs, the futility is unbelievable.
Van Riemsdyk 1 goal last 18 games
Hayes 0 goals last 10 games
Patrick 1 goal last 17 games
Laughton 0 points last 15 games
Farabee 1 goal last 13 games
Aube-Kubel 1 goal last 27 games
That is half the lineup. I mean this is insane. Laughton 15 games without a point and he gets a 5 year contract.
My favorite is this...... Flyers have gone 26 games without winning a game by more than one goal. - PLindbergh31
All of this is astounding. Give it time. In 4 years your’re not going to believe the steals Hayes and laughtons deals turn out to be |

Laughton a 5 year deal while being pointless in 15 games is pretty astounding. |

He’s whole career he’s played the disappearing act, he didn’t even show up to winnipeg for Christ’s sake. They ended up playing him on their fourth line |

If he becomes available the Flyers wouldn't fire Vigneault. He will end up with Rags. |

I think I would prefer Braun to get a rest day and have Hagg back in the lineup. Braun looks gassed. |

Such a luxury the flyers don’t need to protect their 2 leading scorers.

Bill, I don’t see Jake taking this lightly if he is not selected and exposed, could be terrible for the locker room - ClaudeFather

It’s extremely hard, if not impossible, to be competitive (Dave Scott) and build a winner through drafting (Hextall). At some point the organization is going to have to take a step back in order to take steps forward.
All the Stanley Cup winning teams of recent years have very high picks in their lineup who are major contributors to their success. Unfortunately we missed on our one second overall gift from the draft God’s.
Trying to be Cup competitive on a consistent basis without the luxury of a top three pick in the first round brings mediocrity unless you can pull a few gems out of the draft in later first round picks or in the first three rounds. Not an easy thing to do this day and age for every team to accomplish. - Dave21Brown
I am glad I see more voices say this sort of thing. For years, there was only a small minority of people with this pov and they were usually shouted down.
I wonder if some kind of letter writing campaign would do any good to see the franchise change course, bite the bullet and actually commit to picking high for a few years?
Because now, I fear they will go back to the Holmgren model of late 2000s. Give up prospects and get players who are good but not superstars: Hartnell, older Pronger. Older Kimmo. Briere. Some variations thereof.
And I see another decade of futility stretching ahead. Because this team is not 1 superstar away from contention. There is a huge absence of core talent, and not even a McDavid would make us legit contenders. |

I'm out of market. Haven't seen. Does Hartnell shred the incompetence and non competitiveness, or does he toe the company line? |

I did not see the last couple of post-games. But in general he is spectacularly boring.
I have been somewhat impressed with Keith Jones, by the standards of tv commentary. He has been fairly blunt.
