I guess you have never watched him play lol. His game is all about being a dog in the corners and on the puck. There's a reason hes never been a point guy machine in any level he has ever played at

There’s a lot to like’: Marian Studenic’s dynamic skills could lead to another Devils late draft success“

Yeah dude that same dynamic skill to where he was never anything more than a bottom 6 player his entire life. Insane skill there! Hes another fringe NHLer

We are viewing a failed rebuild that will be restarted. Hopefully Fuitzgerald has more success than Shero. Most of the recent draftees have failed to meet expectations. The pain will continue if drafting and development do not markedly improve. The Sabres serve a good omen of failed development and the Devils have blindly been marching down this same path.

The sabres had a crappy coach but have some top pieces

Eichel and dahlin

Cozens also looks like he can be good/very good

Crazy how much the difference of a coach can make right? They look like a completely different and actually a competent team with Krueger gone, and Eichel hasnt even played since the coaching change.

I agree these players all looked like supreme prospects once. Poor development has stifled their careers.

Eichel was regarded as an elite. His contemporaries are all top players who have made their NHL teams contenders. Eichel on the other hand would slot as a second or third line centre on most competitive NHL teams. His potential has been wasted.

Dahlin needed time in the minors but Buffalo foolishly rushed him. Even as a young NHLer his play is in decline. Many scouts now see him topping out as a 5-6 defenseman.

This mishandling is what Devils' management must avoid.

I wish you were the GM of Buffalo. I'd send you a ton of mid round picks for the third line center and 3rd pairing dman.

First thing the devils need to do this summer is get a coach who will teach the defense that on a 2 on 1. you cut off the passing line!!! How many times do the devils defenseman look like a baby seal lying on the ice, while the pass is made and a lay up for the other team?

Even if we win a few games we will still be able to select a top d prospect

And it's a crapshoot this year with COVID and difficulties scouting and all

The bottom 5 are only separated by a point or two so yes it will affect them big time... finishing 5/6 means they dont get powers hughes or the swede

And who knows with the lottery

Powers is going 1 or 2 and I don't see the devil's finishing bottom 2 in the league

Even teams below us will win games here and there

They can absolutely finish bottom 2 in the league. Every team around them has been collecting points at a better rate over the past 10 games, and if the scores hold up today then the Sabres are only 3 points back.

There's a legit chance the Devils only win 2 or 3 of their remaining games. If that happens and the teams around them keep up their current point pace in the last 10, Devils will finish dead last.

Imagine spending as much money as your team spends, on premier talent, and yet you still cant make the playoffs even when those players have career years. Yikes
