The rangers getting their asses kicked, Sam is senile and micoletti is a blowhard
- Upstate_isles

This is 100% accurate.
Sam is senile. Micheletti is a mook. And the Rangers got their asses kicked.

Rangers tried to play the Isles like they were the Devils and found out exactly why the Isles are a contender. Too many cross-ice passes when they should've shot. But, the biggest factors were Bitetto getting too many minutes after Trouba went down and the Isles playing relentless, in your face defense for 60 minutes.
Unfortunately, that is almost certainly our death knell for the season.

I certainly hope not. I really wanna see an Islanders/Rangers first round match.

I would love to see that.
The playoffs were never the benchmark for a successful season for us. But, the way they've played in the last month, I'd really like to watch them play more! May 8th is too soon.

Listen I feel your pain we have goring babbling on like a moron half of the game. As for the rangers they have a lot of talent but remind me of Toronto in that they don't have enough sandpaper in their lineup and don't do well in a physical game. Tampa was like that until Coleman and goodrow join last year.

Speaking of announcers here's a rating they are doing

I love Butch.. he says some stupid stuff once in a while but every color guy does... and he is certainly biased but biased on our side. I love the guy.. and look at it this way. If he is not the guy then we get A. J. Mleczko.

Quinn should be fired after this debacle Shesterkin has never won a game vs the Islanders. Meanwhile georgiev has never lost vs the islanders
- Hockeyislife

Watch the replay of those goals and tell me honestly that anyone would have been able to stop it... Maybe Eberle on the break away but the rest were 100% not the goalie. Bailey parked in front, Brock tip to top corner, the deflection to Beau, and Bailey left alone in the slot... that isn't a goalie issue.

Last night was there best game this season. They manhandled the Rangers
- Hockeyislife

Hopefully they learn from this exact statement. when you have any advantage over a team you need to exploit it.. they are bigger and tougher than the Rangers right now and need to play like that... which is why is drove me nuts how they played against the Bruins. HIT THEM!! Play physical.. There is no Chara anymore... exploit that

I would very much prefer AJ to Butch, honestly. She does a fantastic job.

I think he generally does a terrible job, but that's just my opinion. I also don't really have much of an attachment to him, seeing as I was not alive for the Cup years

When it comes to women commentators I think shes actually one of the better.

I actually liked when Jaffe did the games and rose wasn't terrible as well. Though I think Brendan is one of the better play by play guys on NBC. I hope he stays around for a while.

Last time we played you guys it was televised on Sportsnet up here in Canada. So, I thought I'd watch it there instead of through Center Ice. It was the Isles coverage and I didn't even make it til puck drop before I had had enough of Butch!
Pretty sure I even said, "I'd rather listen to our idiots."

And I do the same thing with the Rangers broadcast

I watched one of the last games with my dad over at my parents and down here all the MSG channels are adjacent to each other so he puts the game on and I was like "wrong channel" and he looked all confused. I had to explain how much I can't listen to Sam and Micheletti

Re-watching the highlights and I still can't figure out what in the world Brendan Smith was complaining to the ref about after Nelson scored the 2nd goal of the game

Same.
I was wishing they would investigate at the time last night, because I was confused. It even looked like the Rangers coaches briefly looked at something on the iPad.
Only thing I could guess was that Smith forgot how the offside rule works!

At first I thought maybe Nelson bumped Shesterkin, then I thought maybe he redirected it with his skate...but once I saw the replays I was beyond confused.

That Smith/Bitetto pairing had a rough go last night. On Pageau's one-timer goal Smith just stopped skating thinking Bitetto was going for the puck...that one was ugly.

Yeah. Smitty stepped up and played well after we lost Trouba. But, that was rough.
No one other than Quinn has any idea why Bitetto was even in the line up. He hadn't played in a game for weeks before slotting in against the Devils on Sunday, and he didn't look too good then. Unless Hajek is hurt, he shouldn't have come out (obviously, Hajek is not a juggernaut, but it couldn't have been much worse), or they should have brought Reunanen back up from Hartford for another look.
