They can only cancel what you let them cancel. I had an awesome Fourth of July bbq last year

I hope you at least finished by 10pm, when the virus becomes more contagious

Well I’m not sure if that’s good news or not. I kinda wanna see the revamped lines from the last game have another go.

Probably Dal Colle or Komarov out. I know he's not very popular, but I'll say it...I think Dal Colle's been effective out there this season. It seems like whatever line they put him on is a line that's able to sustain a forecheck and create opportunities, and I don't think that's a coincidence. I wish he'd bury some of his chances, but he's been good along the boards and holding the puck in when it seems destined to go back the other way.

Just think how much better he'd be if he ever learned how to skate!

Dal Colle and that line as a whole had themselves a good game. I will say that Dal Colle seems to have a game or two where he’s effective then kind of loses his impact after that. If he could find some consistency and maybe pot a few goals he would be great. That line isn’t a “shut down” line and this team needs scoring. Period. There’s no denying that and of Wahlstrom is available and playing well and it’s between him and Dal Colle that’s not a tough decision for me.

Yeah, that's probably the case...I may just be remembering some of the more effective outings and disregarding the forgettable ones. I'll leave it to someone who's better with the fancy stats to figure out whether I'm onto something or just being charitable with the eye test.

Dal Colle plays a good to somewhat responsible game with zero offensive output. I just don’t think that’s what we want consistently on a line with our 4th leading scorer on a team that has a difficult time scoring. Yeah they have their occasional blow outs like the last game but reality is goals don’t normally come easy to this team. I don’t hate Dal Colle I probably stuck up for the guy the last couple of seasons on here more then anyone else but I’ll always go with Wahlstrom over him (if those are the choices) unless the kid is playing terrible. Just my two cents...

Right, I get that, but I think there's a difference in what he brings to the table compared to your typical "coach's favorite" type player who is a "warrior," or "plays a heavy game," or some other similar nebulous trait that's impossible to define but that coaches seem to fall in love with.

Dal Colle looks to me to actively contribute to maintaining time in the offensive zone. If you put him with players who can score, it seems they'd have more opportunities to put that skill to use if they spend more time on offense.

Again, I wish I understood all the numbers to see if I'm just seeing things that aren't there. I can look them up, but I have no real solid idea of what they mean outside of the brief glossary definitions But if CF% is worth a damn, which appears to be about controlling the puck when a given player is on the ice, then Dal Colle's fourth-best on the team, behind only Eberle, Barzal, and Lee. I'm not saying this makes him amazing or even a sure bet to stay in the lineup...just that I think he's a bit more useful than most do.

Agree UIF, he has been pretty consistent when in there in all 3 zones vs. Wahlstrom who has been awful in his last handful of games imo. I like Wally and his shot but you have to play a complete game to get ice time in the NHL.

I think Leo is the odd man out and lines will be same as last games. Cal back to the 4th line. No reason to screw with them.

Not saying the guy is worthless but you have to score to win and we don’t have many (any) players that do that consistently. Dal Colle doesn’t score at all. He at times may push the play forward but for a team that loses a lot of one goal games that’s just not what I’m looking for on one of my scoring lines. With that said if that line keeps playing like it did last game I wouldn’t change a thing. I just do not think that’s going to happen unfortunately. I’ve seen this routine/pattern enough times.

Rob Ray is everything that's bad about Butch, but also without the sense of humor!

Agree on Biron, though.

I pretty much agree with what you're saying. And 9 times out of 10 I'm putting Wahlstrom in over Dal Colle if those are my choices. The 10th time, though, might be a game like tonight, where Wahlstrom's gone cold and Dal Colle's coming off a solid game where, in addition to what he usually brings, he had better looks than Wahlstrom's gotten in some time.

Really I think he's honest about what's happening in the game without being a super Homer

Agreed. I certainly don't see any need to stir things up on behalf of Clutterbuck, who seems to have less and less impact by the year. At this stage, and I can't believe I'm typing this, it seems that Leo may be better suited for that fourth line. Certainly I don't see enough impact from Cal to warrant changing the lineup after what was their best performance since Anders went out.

For the short term, I'd throw Dal Colle out there again but there's no way I want to be continually playing him in what should be Wahlstrom's spot. While Wahlstrom has been disappointingly bad as of late, he does backcheck and obviously can contribute in areas Dal Colle does not. The ceiling for the Isles as a team is much better with Wahlstrom in the lineup than Dal Colle. Hopefully at some point there will be space for both while guys like Cal and Leo move on.
