I think most of Wally's struggles of late have been with turnovers in the offensive zone. He's definitely had a bad run for 10 games or so.
I'd almost bet that Barry runs the same lineup Saturday save for maybe Zajac over Leo.
I'm more of a fan of letting young players play through their struggles. Hopefully Wally gets that chance soon - keaner17
Along with Bailey, Beauvillier who was terrible, and pretty much the rest of the team. I honestly think his defensive lapses were far less pronounced and impactful then the two I mentioned over that time period(before Bailey was injured for a couple of games). Can’t have Leo Komarov on your first line and expect to score goals. Period. Anyone wants to debate that save your breath with me it’ll be a waste of time. Dal Colle is what he is. He isn’t changing. If anyone thinks he’s going to start scoring goals give your head a shake it’s time to wake up it’s not happening.
I said it today. This team has a hard time scoring you can’t remove players that score from the line up and expect to win one goal games. With that said if a bounce went their way tonight they would’ve won it. Trotz will get Wahlstrom back in there I’m not worried about it. |

I don’t think you will see Wally or Bellows in the next game. The caps are a great Offensive team and 1 stupid TO is in your net.
No team is perfect or every game is 0-0. They have been pretty good defensively the last few games so I’m feeling this is the lineup you will see, but for a small tweak, Leo for Zajac as Keaner said.
Don’t have a problem with it either they played a great game, both teams did. - nyisles7
Not a fan of Zajac or Leo on top line. Plenty of bad defensive plays that Varly saved them on that Zajac nor Leo would have prevented. What they do prevent is a solid option for Ebs and Barzy in the offensive zone as a scoring option. Just my opinion. |

It’s the right opinion imo
Getting a little tired of Barzal and Eberle looking at themselves as the only passing option on that line. The opposition is well aware of it and they are all the more easy to shut down. Trotz needs to give it a rest with Komarov on the first line it’s a joke at this point. |

Well OV, Backstrom, Oshie, etc. didn’t score either. Two good teams, played real well. That’s why their in 1st and 2nd place. You’re telling me if Beau, or whoever was on the first line they would have scored 3 goals and won?
Take the point and move on imo. They played well enough to win as did the Caps and it was decided by a skills competition as stupid as that is. |

Not a fan of Zajac playing top line and taking Barzals center position at times either. It’s not gonna change but I’m not a fan. At least he’s balanced the 2nd and 3rd lines. |

1) Varly shouldn’t be in the net again this season.
2) Wahlstrom would have had a hat trick because next year he will be the best player in the league, with 50 goals at least.
3) Fire Barry now
4) Sit Mayfield for the rest of the season.
5) pp sucks
6) you can add any of the other tremendously ridiculous comments you have to add because I’m sure I missed a ton.

I thought of exactly what you said in they didn’t score either. Good point. I just don’t think having Wahlstrom or Bellows on top line create that much of a defensive void. Doesn’t really matter what we think. I’m just stating my thoughts. Trotz will do what he do and we are here to have fun discussing his decisions. 😁😁🤩🤩 |

Oh Zajac played center for a couple of games on that line he wasn’t just taking draws and that to me was puzzling. All due respect to Zajac but in no world is that a good move to me. We all kid around about Barzal on the wing little did we know it would happen with Travis Zajac of all players. I thought it was even more nuts that after it didn’t work he went with it again in the next game. I thought Zajac had a couple decent games on the wing with Barzal but that fizzled. Trotz knows wahlstrom’s strengths a helluva lot better then me of course and maybe knows he’ll be crap playing on his off wing but I would love to see him get a game or two with Barzal. He’s trying to find something that connects with these new players and nothing seems to be working. |

So true
I said a couple games ago Wally is playing himself in the presser he was so bad in the d zone and neutral zone. I’m a Putz and called it. Gotta play both sides of the puck or you are not getting the ice time.
Gotta remember the staff sees shat you and I don’t even think of. Things they practice and go over. |

Stop - nyisles7
Nothing to stop. Beauvillier was terrible for a stretch of games along with Bailey. Pointed it out numerous times on here along with other posters. You were awfully quiet then because it was happening. They had a good game against the Rangers. All is good now. |
