Along with Bailey, Beauvillier who was terrible, and pretty much the rest of the team. I honestly think his defensive lapses were far less pronounced and impactful then the two I mentioned over that time period(before Bailey was injured for a couple of games). Can’t have Leo Komarov on your first line and expect to score goals. Period. Anyone wants to debate that save your breath with me it’ll be a waste of time. Dal Colle is what he is. He isn’t changing. If anyone thinks he’s going to start scoring goals give your head a shake it’s time to wake up it’s not happening.
I said it today. This team has a hard time scoring you can’t remove players that score from the line up and expect to win one goal games. With that said if a bounce went their way tonight they would’ve won it. Trotz will get Wahlstrom back in there I’m not worried about it. - Cptmjl
My point as well. Some feel that adding Leo to the top line provides an air of defensive reliability, but the reality is this comes at the expense of the forecheck with your top players. So sure, Leo is high in the offensive zone so he can get back to prevent odd man rushes against, but he's also MIA on offensive plays causing Ebs and Barzy to play at a disadvantage. So now you insert Dal Colle and do the same thing to Brock. This isn't like the Isles were suddenly giving up four goals a game. Meanwhile, subtract the offensive outburst in the Rangers game and the Isles have managed 10 goals in their last 8 games. Somehow removing a guy who could be your leading goal scorer in favor of two grinders, who couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat, strikes me as a bad idea. Certainly forcing your top two lines to drag those players along seems equally bad.

No. Not everyone else putz. Just you. I never said “I can’t believe it” I said I didn’t agree with it. Don’t start putting words in my mouth. You don’t think every, single, one of us knows what trotz is going to do at this point? He’s pretty predictable with his line up decisions. Oh of course it’s just you because of your incredible hockey acumen. You’re a putz
Don’t rope everyone else in this is just me and you talking so stop with the “everyone”. Fight your own battles stop being a woman. You just needle, annoy, and act like a little girl that’s not getting enough attention. - Cptmjl

I’m not defending everyone. Every time you have a spat with ANYONE or I should say EVERYONE your patented BS is to rope everyone into it to diminish whatever point whoever you’re fighting with is trying to make. Aka saying I’m saying everyone is wrong. I’m not saying everyone I’m saying YOU are. It has nothing to do with anyone else. Stop being a woman that’s a chick maneuver. |

Good. We’ve all learned enough from our hockey expert tonight. Who would’ve guessed trotz would pull a rookie out of the line up. Thank god you predicted it. |

Komarov to me is someone you throw on the first line if you have too. That’s after you go through every other option first. To say he has been good there is even more laughable. Barzal is playing like dog crap which the answer can’t always be well let’s just give him some more Komarov and think that’s going to help |

It just strikes me as crazy to think that he was the best option to replace Anders. Anders is a damn fine player but by no means is his defensive play what makes him good. He's a big, strong guy with decent hands that can win battles in the corners and in front of the net to bang home opportunities created by Ebs and Barzy. He is an offensive player. Putting in a 4th line kind of defensive grinder like Komarov does nothing to help those guys do their job. It neutralizes them. I understand that putting someone like Wahlstrom or Beau on that line means they'll give up a few more goals, but it also means they'll do more of what they're supposed to do. Dominate offensively.

Bingo. Barzal isn’t a defensive player. He’s our first line scoring center. Of course we want him to play a two way game but he is literally on the team to score goals. That’s what he gets paid for. I get trotz wanting to spread out the scoring and wanting to roll four lines. With that said pretty much eliminating your first line as a scoring threat for fear of giving up a goal I don’t think is the best idea. |

Yes, I'm okay with that so long as the plus/minus is better. In other words, put Wally on that line and over 10 games they may give up 3 more goals than they would have with Leo, but they may also score 6 more. I'll take that trade off
*to your edit: if they score one, they win. |

Hope the +/- is better
You can’t play run and gun in the NHL imo. Defense wins. I guess we just disagree with that d first philosophy. I mean it worked great when JT’s line was scoring 4 but giving up 5. I’ll go with the no goals against and play a patient game and jump on my opponents mistakes.
Hell you must have like Weights defense optional system but I don’t think that’s the case.
I’m not saying Leo is the answer but Zajac or him give some stability. They definitely are not replacing Lee and won’t pretend or say they are. It just lets the other lines which are playing well stay together.
Great players make other players better and Barzal needs to get his head out of his ass and start playing the way he can instead of the stupid game he’s been playing recently. |

Islanders cant score. There pp sucks. Need a shutout from our goalies to salvage a point in the last 2 OT games. Only time Komarov should be in the lineup is if someone gets hurt on the 4th line that's it. Bellows wahlstrom and Zajac need to be in the lineup. These lineup decisions are stupidity at its finest. |
