even before that honestly, like the first few games after skinner was benched it was pretty clear he lost the team

Some people have argued that what is going on now doesn't mean anything because there is nothing to lose. There is actually a ton to lose. If you're out there with a 2 goal lead late in the third against the Penguins you're busting your ass to win a game. Also, very late in that game Donnie rolls out a defenseman playing in his first game while knowing full well he is trying to win a job. That takes giant sack.

Even better news - Borgen is back on thursday and that should result in Irwin being shot into the sun.

True. But those back to back shutout losses and those 3 games vs. Isles (plus a 2-3 loss to Rags in between) was a giant neon-light billboard screaming "FIRE HIS ASS!"...still took the another 10 days and five losses (including 2 shutouts)

True. But there is a difference when points are on the line in a quest to make the playoffs. That's when the sticks are held tighter and the plays you should be making aren't being made.

Roch is signing people off of the street to play. I think giving Sameuelsson a couple of games and sending him back down to play big minutes is the plan.
