What this primarily proves to me is the incredible lack of luck the Sabres have had with goaltending over the 10 year drought. At no point did we get a Hamburglar playing 80% of the games at a .941%

The best we got was (hungover) Lehner at .920 over 58 games. And that guy had a knack for letting pucks in at the worst time possible

Correction - we had a run of fantastic goaltending during the year where we were trying to lose. That's how bad our luck is.

And God forbid it went to a shoot-out. Still can't believe we traded a 1st for him.

Lehner is a good goalie; unfortunately his demons got the best of him during his time here. And the way he framed his struggles was absolute bullpoop - he never really took any responsibility while essentially blaming the fans. Botterill treated him incredibly well. I'm glad he got sober but he never publically owned his part of the underperforming teams

Is this the argument though?
Or are the goalposts being moved again on this board?

Seems to me at .915 SV% for a 30 yo 4th string Goalie signed purely to meet the Expqnsion Draft exposure requirements , and serve as an emergency backup...he is doing awesome.

- IonSabres

Props to him and his 15 minutes of fame. He deserves the attention he's gotten.

Both are ahl goalies at best. Both suck
- Sabretooth9

Tokarski’s goal support per 60 is improving but still below 2. Not bad for a garbage goalie

He's made some big saves when needed. He's also let in some goals that an NHL goalie should stop. His rebound control has been good and the team in front of him has been strong in their own end while playing ream d. Toki will be in the AHL next season and will continue to be an emergency goalie for Buffalo. Too much overreaction here...as usual

Maybe right know, but he wasn't worth a 1st rnd pick when we traded for him.

If Lehner had been sober, he would have been worth it

Consider that Girgensons, Grigorenko, Kassian, Nylander and Ennis were 1sts

That's great they were 1st rnd picks, doesn't mean Lehner was worth a 1st. His GAA the 2yrs pryor to being traded to Buffalo was over 3. He was still young but doesn't mean he was worth a 1st.

If he put up the season he did on the island after he got sober, he would have been worth it

Congrats to Marleau on his achievement

That's a record we may not see broken in our lifetimes, or perhaps ever. Impressive.

Every game on the Sega Master System display at Gold Circle seemed awesome. Shoulda asked for the NES though because nobody else had that Sega. Had to ride it out until Genesis came out the second time. SEGA!
