The OHL is expected to officially shutdown its season today. The league came very close to returning a couple of weeks ago, but wasn’t granted government approval. Tough on all involved, especially the players. Hope is to start fresh next season.

Who (frank)ing cares? Boris Johnson is going to step away from solving Covid and hold a special Cabinet meeting on the Super League today. It’s done. - Canada Cup
Oh Boris ....he's going to have to persuade a bunch of wealthy American, Middle East, Spanish and Italian billionaires. |

Also ...is Chesterfield the home of the "couch"? - The Law
Prior to marrying a Canadian, my brother-in-law was unaware that we called a couch a chesterfield. So obviously he was also unaware of the term "chesterfield rugby."
Believe it or not, there is a Chesterfield Rugby club.
Despite pleas for over 25 years from me and my brothers, he has never bought us any Chesterfield Rugby merchandise.
I do, however, have a Chesterfield FC jersey and a tie. I can assure you, there are no natural fibres in the tie.
The franking team are named the Spireites - named after the crooked spire in the town church, made famous in the novel Lady Chatterley's Lover.
If I gave you $1,000,000, could you come up with a softer name for a team than one named after the crooked spire in the town church, made famous in the novel Lady Chatterley's Lover?
You could not.

So is the 3500 new cases today a sign we're working our way back down? Too soon.
Was reading that BC is enforcing local travel bans and roadside stops. |

We are over a year in and the national public broadcaster is still reporting case count drops as a good thing while entirely ignoring the number of tests processed.
Percentage positivity remains almost identical to a week ago (last Tuesday's reporting was 8.7% today is 8.5%).
Also guess when it was below 4,000 last?
Last Tuesday they reported 3,670 cases... Today they reported 3,469.
There is a 7 day cycle of testing/cases that is being ignored in this type of reporting. Still.

Good luck with that, not saying it shouldn't be done but does municipal government have that power? |

Heard a good one yesterday.
Some group advocating for everyone who gets vaccinated to get 3 weeks off, paid.
Yeah, uh, who is going to pay and what happens to our economy and supply chains when the entire adult population working in those areas is on rolling 3 week vacations.
Better buy toilet paper and lysol wipes, again.
