regarding upcoming draftees.. how much longer will their seasons run? how much more of a sample size will scouts get to determine how to rank players?

A lot of their seasons are coming to an end, or have already ended. It's the playoffs for most of the kids still playing. But the U18 World Championships start in a couple of days, so that will be the last big viewing for scouts to see a lot of the draft eligible kids

Only thing I feel bad about is letting a kid go out there and get shelled. Wedgewood and Dell aren't going to be on this team next year so let them get slaughtered out there.

Yes. At our current compete level, I don't think we have another 3 wins in us to close out the season.

Good think is Detroit, Buffalo, Ott are all coming off wins and our odds of a top 3 pick are going up! I am now Buffalo and Anaheims biggest fan.

Man Holtz is so good. He was the best player on the ice for Bingo by a decent margin, Clarke was pretty good as well. Those two were by far the best players and it wasn't close after that. Everybody knows about his shot but his poise and playmaking was on display tonight. If he plays like that the rest of the season with Bingo and carries that into camp next year, i don't see how he doesnt make the team for opening night.

Also, Mercer with 1 goal and 2 assists for Chicoutimi tonight in a 6-3 win. 4 points so far for him and a 2-0 series lead to open the playoffs for his team

I’m not subscribing because of I want to watch AHL hockey I just watch the NJ Devils. But next year I probably will when the Springfield Thunderbirds are back in business.

Not all of the players listed need to be protected in the draft depending on the requirements for pro seasons. And some players might need protection such as McLeod who has played multiple pro seasons (in the AHL) which would make him eligible for the expansion draft.

Hughes and Boqvist dont need to be protected.

The Devils will likely protect:
Forwards: Nico, Bratt, Zacha, Wood, Sharangovich, Kuokkanen, and one of McLeod/Johnsson
Defense: Subban, Siegenthaler, Sevo
Goalie: Blackwood

That'll leave Merkley, one of McLeod/Johnsson, Bastian, Butcher, and Comrie exposed.

I think they might leave PK exposed because they just wouldn't eat a 9 mil contract to protect Butcher just to guarantee holding onto an asset.

I think he only has 1 more year left before UFA. Plus we have to hit the floor and Zajacs/palms retention is $5m by itself.

I honestly couldn't care less about the pick when it comes to playing the Rangers and Flyers. Win the (frank)ing games. When youre a young team like this team, those are the games you need to learn to win. Absolutely pathetic
