Not correct. York is LHD which means Provy, Sanheim and Morin as slotted. Zamula is LHD as well but he is experiencing some growing pains typical of a young defenseman so its likely he and York aren't separated by much.

Haag is a question mark as he can play both sides (as can Sanheim), but I would think given how much better he has played since his injury and the fact its been predominately as RHD that they may push him to that side given our lack of depth.

i'm not sure why you're mentioning the norris anyway. it's given to defensemen that put up points. not necessarily because they're good at playing defense.

There is certainly a bias towards the point producing kind, but the position has evolved, and most #1D are expected to be much more offensive than they were 25 years ago. All in all, I think Norris finalists are by far the best measure of how good a Dman is.
