"
The first option for the Kings to look at currently with the Buffalo Sabres is a player who is slowly becoming “the other Rasmus” on his team, Rasmus Ristolainen. The big Finn — standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 218 pounds — is an absolute unit on the ice and uses his size well. Currently fifth in the league for hits by a defenseman with 112, he loves to throw his weight around. He has also finished the last three seasons with 200-plus hits, so the Kings would be able to rely on him for a high volume of hits consistently.
While Ristolainen’s career so far has been a mixed bag, I think being able to play second fiddle to Doughty would be a great thing for him. Having led the Sabres in average time on ice every season since 2015-16, a slightly more sheltered role on the Kings’ second pairing could bring out the best in Ristolainen. It’s also important to remember that he is not just a brute on the back end — he’s been consistently putting up 40-plus points in his eight-year NHL career. He also has the potential to score some highlight-reel goals, something Brent Burns learned the hard way." - homiedclown

On pace for 29 points in 82 games this year. So doesn’t even do that well anymore
And he can’t defend
So what does he actually do again? |

Well of course we have to focus and be at the ready to jump on him...he makes his first of 30 boneheaded plays about 10 seconds into the game. - IonSabres
4 shots for 24 against last night
You don’t even have to focus his stat lines are a joke |

you guys ever notice how star players have always had their most success against the sabres in the last 8 years
and we finally stifled ovie for the first time in ages and a certain change was made that perhaps lead to it - robz228
Exactly. If the announcer says Mario has 699 goals, you can bet your last dollar he will get 700 against us. Like every single milestone a player could get, it’s with us. Strange. |

How does a guy who is so terrible get that much of a return? Unless, he is not as bad as perceived or as this group wishes to him to be? |
|
|
|
I’m so confused why we’re comparing Reinhart and Ristolainen
One is actually really good, excelling at a different position and is on pace for a career high in goals if it were a full year
The other one has been demoted, is playing against teams bottom lines and still getting murdered with shots and goals because he can’t think the game - sbroads24
we're talking about taking care of the puck...what's the difference between sending the puck up the boards and out of the d-zone and turning the puck over in the offensive zone?...in either instance the opposition gets the puck...
and the second part is nothing but a generalization to fit your narrative...shown me the numbers with risto and rookies bryson and samuelsson vs. the opposition |

Bruh, he posted a 10% Xg share last night, was scored on by the Bruins 4th line, took a penalty while we were on the PP, and shot a wide open one timer wide during a late third period PP
How about this, show me any proof of what we’re saying isn’t correct.
4 shots for, 24 against. Not even matched up against the Bruins top line |

If you have the puck more, you have the possibility to turn the puck over more. Jack Eichel is elite because he has the puck often and has a low turnover rate.
Sam Reinhart is a top 30-40 forward in the league because he creates positive offensive impacts, scores at a top forward rate, and is not elite partially because his turnover rate is higher than say, Jack.
Ristolainen has a low turnover amount because he doesn't have the puck, because he's (frank)ing bad. |

When was the last time any player hit any kind of milestone against us? They were tracking Ovis route up the all-time goals list and not once did he passs anyone against us..
