He can't keep his arguments straight anymore
He likes Risto, so be it, he "punches people in the face" yet has 3 total fights in his NHL career.
Risto hits people because the Sabres never have the puck when he is on the ice.
Risto is however good in the offensive zone.
He likes Girgensons because he "tries hard" aka skating out of control where he falls.
He doesn't like Reinhart because he is "soft"(yet takes a beating in front of the net where he scores a lot of his goals). Doesn't think he can produce without Eichel (is producing more without him this season that he did with him) and he isn't a top line producer yet Homie posted the stats that prove otherwise. But Sam doesn't sign autographs I guess.
Boss will be Boss he likes who he likes for whatever reason. - Stripes77
I have no problem with fans liking certain players
if he likes risto, good for him
same with girgens
over the last 10 years, I have learned to not get attached to any sabre, hence no new jerseys, only old school ones for addition
aside from dahlin and cozens, there is literally no sabre that I would shed a tear if moved this summer

Reinhart good.
Risto bad.
One of them produces and has good analytics, but he isn’t blazing fast or hits people. Jack of all trades guy though.
The other is built exactly how you would think a #1 d-man would look. Hits people. Blocks shots. However stinks at the actual game of hockey and the analytics confirm that.
To each their own. |

I guess my issue is blasting someone for "scoring on the PP" when the player he loves gets almost half of his points on the PP like Risto does compared to Sam |

But Risto is worth $5.4m? For a 3rd Pairing Dman?
Did he get drafted in thec1st round of your fantasy draft or something? ![](https://hbcf.s3.amazonaws.com/images/emoticons/lol.gif) - IonSabres
He’s not a “3rd pair” quality defenseman |

Risto hits people because the Sabres never have the puck when he is on the ice.
Risto is however good in the offensive zone, I will give him that. I will add that 109 of his 241 points have come on the PP (45 %)
Also Sam's career percentage of points on the PP is 30% (88 out of his 285 is on the PP)

No, really lame post.
Once again you fail to understand the context...
I'll try to be very pointed
Risto, as a Dman, absolutely blows in his own end at everything related to actually playing Defense.
He has proven it for 8 freakin years that he isn't a top 4 Dman...he's a poor 2nd pairing at max...and I am being very generous.
The data is there if you open your eyes to it.
His offensive accumen saves him, a bit, so he deserves 3rd pairing minutes in a very sheltered 5v5 role.
From the above, he isn't worth $5.4m...IMO. Which is a decent 2nd pairing.
Hence why my conclusion that the Sabres can't afford the luxury to play him at 3RhD.
T14 made my point in spades...maybe they could carry his sorry ass if they didn't absolutely F-up by paying Okposo and Skinner $15m.
But that us the reality.
I'm glad you like to watch hard hitting...maybe you should get the ECHL package.
Now you try to justify that absurd $2m for McDavid, it ought to be great reading.
JC! - IonSabres
I really like you better when we ignore each other.
You've turned into a grumpy turd 🙋♂️

Can't believe Risto has been the Center of conversation for this long. He should be 2nd pairing playing 18 minutes a night |

This is a reasonable assessment.
I'd probably add Casey and bryson to the list of shredded tears. With dylan and dahlin.
Clearly we all.have favorites, but winning is #1 |

(shrug) not much else to talk about.
He was on the third pair last night and was terrible - can't see why I'd want him on the second pair.

Risto isn't re-signing here.
He's passive-aggressively wanted out for years.
That should about cover it.

I’d be fine with just free optometrist consultations for the Risto apologists.
There is a lot of beauty in the world that they are missing out on due to blurred vision |

The funny thing is that I feel bad for the guy. He needs to move on from this organization as badly as the organization needs to move on from him. The guy is an absolute warrior and also deserves better than he has gotten here.
