Yep. Keep it going. Learn, play hard, play fast. Get the kids in all situations, etc.
I want to see a nice comeback win, maybe down 3 goals or something. - Powerslave
Like how Granato is putting these kids in different situations, seeing Samuelsson out there at the end, showing a trust factor, could be huge with their confidence. Does UPL get the majority of the starts the rest of year, believe they only have 1 set of back to back left. |

It all seems contingent on the ability to offload Ristolainen + Miller along with shoring up the goaltending. - kingcong39
Yup I mentioned that last night. Gotta find money.
Also remember Seattle is taking someone.
Once you free up space. Then plan the build.
Also remember no 8 mill hall or staal at 3 mill |

Doesn't seem like much, but they are gonna have about 35mill in space |

Even with the durability concerns? The best ability is availability. He isn’t necessarily checking that box.
I still like him. I still bring him back. But I’m still at $4 ish. For 2-3 .... I might, MIGHT creep to $4.5. But that depends on if Okoposo suffers from raging jock itch and has to be ltir’d.
I also make a run at dereigder. Or maybe merzlykins. Because after his comments that’d be hilarious.
Trade risto.
Trade Miller.
Trade olofson
Fire Eakin into the sun.
Make a run at Savard.
Okposo with the raging jock itch, ltir
Bribe Seattle to stay away from the kids.
Samson, it depends on what he wants.
McCabe, probably time to move on.
I do have one hand firmly on the meatball bandwagon. With the caveat that he finds a seasoned offensive assistant to lean on and help with the pp.
And yes. I have eaten multiple servings of crow on mitts. And I’ll suffer down 2 servings on Tage currently.
Mitts. Tage. Asplund needs to stay together, call them the crow line...
Did I miss anything or will that get us closer to the playoffs? - Gr8daygo
They are definitely tracking towards becoming a playoff team. It is concerning how Jack and any UFA’s fit in with this next year. Could be really good or bad. The young guys are progressing and decreased ice time along with new roles can become a setback.

Sure does.
And I think we can thank the kids, because if it didn't look like Mitts, Tage and Asplund were developing, that's 3 more holes to fill. - Powerslave
Kong hit on it earlier...congrats to Mitts for realizing he needed to commit hard to his development, it is awesome he came to that reality. Good on MFE for getting the message through.
Tage has also come to the realization that his dipsy doodles dont work in the NHL and is playing well...just wish he had the mindset of a power forward.
I still maintain that The Don has made a bigger contribution than Disco Dan, Lousley and Fvckin Freddy combined in terms of uncovering what skills exist on this team by finally playing Sam with competent wingers, playing upbeat/high-event hockey that aligns with the talent on the club.
IMO, that knowledge gained is invaluable to Adams this offseason and should not be underestimated.
For me now, one of the last things I want to see is Asplund back at C. He has a history in the A of being a good point producer at the pivot while being defensively responsible. Maybe a line of Skinner - Asplund - Reinhart for 4 - 5 games.

Asplund can dish the puck, he has been a better playmaker than a scorer, but nice to see him finding that touch up here. |

Getting Tage signed to that 3 year deal looks really good right now.
Will be interesting to see how they tackle Reinhart, Dahlin, Mitts this offseason. |

Will be interesting, do you bridge Dahlin or go long term |

Yeah when you're so close to being a ufa and close to getting a mega payday most likely your hometown its clear as day
It sucks but buffalo played with him to long - gerbe75pts
It sucks that he had a terrible first half of 17-18 only to kill it in the second half leaving many to wonder what he was all about. I think thats why he got a bridge deal |

crazy, when you don't play him with Griffith, Josefson or Pouliot, he can produce as a center
who would have thought that |

I’d go long term on Dahlin.
He’s going to explode next year |

I feel like your estimates lately have been on the high side, maybe because it's difficult to factor in the flat cap.
I looked up Tage as a comparable, and there are a lot of similarities in terms of situation between the 2. Both were coming off their second season of eligibility towards UFA status, at almost the same age (22 going on 23).
Does Casey take the tall Tage deal? 3 years at between $1.5M - $1.8M per?
That would leave him with 2 years left before UFA status, just like Tage's deal. - kingcong39
I do tend to look at the players side. Most of the time, the suggestions here are very team friendly and I like to consider the other side of it. I think the last time we debated was Ullmark asking for an average starter deal. That one aged well for a bit, then he got hurt again.
I think Mitts is in a slightly better negotiating position than Tage. He's a C and is finishing the season strong in the NHL. Tage didn't have much going in his favor. I'd say 2 years at a little over 2m. Possibly still a flat cap 1 year at less. 3rd year would cost more.

hahahaha no 8x8 and don't even Richard him around like that, or it's a 2 or 3-year bridge for 6.5, no way he does 8 for 6.5 |

None of his goals last night were 5v5. Sam's always been consistent. Almost always upped his production year over year. And rarely played with those gems |

Mittelfadt on pace for a 20/20 season.
If that's all he is, or ends up being then I'm happy and we should keep him around as our middle-6 C. He can float between line 2/3 depending on the situation and get 2nd PP unit time.
Cozens needs to learn how to finish but so far I'm loving what I see out of him this season. It was a good year to have the short season for a player like him, let him get up to speed in the NHL.
If Thompson can become a good depth guy and chip in 15 goals per, then that's also a win in my book.
My biggest surprise this year is Asplund, though. 6 goals in 20 games - He makes Larsson look like the Lockport Larry he is and when he actually finally got playing time and linemates, he flourished.
Man I want to female dog slap Ralph so hard.
