For one time, just once, perhaps they could manage the team like other good teams do where they find a way to make the numbers work, meaning a way to offload Okposo. - kingcong39
The Bruins managed to unload Backes for a late first and a below average prospect. He also has two years less than Okposo, and was traded prior to the pandemic affecting sports. Every other player, Eriksson, Lucic, Neal, hasn't been able to be effectively offloaded.
So what does it take, now, to unload Kyle? Two years left. Resurrected by Granato prior to his injury, can still be a useful player apparently. Can the Sabres take on a middle 6 forward and give up Kyle, Olofsson and Bryson or Samuelsson? Would the Sabres want to do that? Would another team these days even want to absorb him for a reasonable asking price? And paying Seattle to take him would be a mistake. The Jackets needed to give up Wild Bill in order for the Knights to just stash Clarkson onto LTIR.
with the way he has these kids playing, the odds get better with each game...whether it's the correct move won't be known until we're well into next season, possibly 2021-22...
my point is, can the team afford to gamble on another rookie nhl head coach (or in the case of stank, one with a handful of games behind the bench)?...that would make three in a row - Michael Pachla
Aside from the Sabres playing the most inspired hockey in 7 years:
Granato will be paid minimum salary and works well/ chosen by our current gm.
The pegula's can sit back and give him a year.
The fan's are already on his side. 🙂

I find it funny that we argued all summer about whether Sam could stand on his own two feet without Eichel and this season we find out what the analytics told us all along. That he is almost equally effective.
Do not let anyone offer him a 5 year aho type deal, where we have to match, overpay and get stuck shorter term.
Dahlin seems like a guy that " break's"the non rfa signing trend. Being a defenseman, we've paid for his learning curve.... all eye are on his pedigree... - Boss34
Aho isn't even close to overpaid. He's a ppg player over the last 3 years.

It is equally as funny that the Risto lovers are seeing what a train wreck he is that the data told us he is save a 10 game period earlier this season, but still fight about moving on.
