The Bolts are like 5 Mil over the cap for next year.
Every player is available for the right price. - ImThatGuy
We should trade Jack Eichel because Kyle Okposo makes too much money.

You said name a successful team. It appears your definition of success is winning the cup or bust. In that case, you've severely limited options for choosing, but also made a disingenuous discussion. - SDSabre
Name a successful team that pays there top defenseman 8+ million dollars... Sure you can be a top 16 team in the league but your not winning a cup with an 8 million dollar defenseman... Same can be said about a 13 million dollar Centre... Some of these guys make to much for where the cap sits.

Perhaps, but unfortunetly he has a NMC. Better to just accept he's here and hope for a rebound. I don't have anything against Girgs, but if he's the selection, I would be thrilled. I just see guys with higher upside then what he brings. - SDSabre
28 can't go anywhere, he's the toughness this team needs to keep other teams from taking liberties. Of course he might trip over his own feet before he get's there, but he will be the deterrent. |

Not sure.
He might be the guy they take anyway...relatively low cost, former 1st.
You'll hate me, but if I were Adams and couldn't trade, then I would expose
ZG
Risto
Miller
I would not expose Borgen, or work with them to find a way so they do not pick him.
His play at his cost is too valuable. - IonSabres
I respect you, no hate here. That's why I asked you.
And I kinda agree.
I like borgen alot, i still feel like 55 has some trade value around the league, but what team would trad for risto prior to the expansion draft , to turn around and have to protect him in the draft?
I really like to dangle okposo or skimmer, with our pick.
Liking the youth and the upbeat hockey lately. Make's tage not expendable in my book. Asplund too.
Hope you're feeling better today.

Because the situations in Tampa and Colorado are exaclty the same.
I didn't realize that group think has infiltrated the buzz too.
Ill go back to falling in line.
PICK Owen "Tyler Myers" Power - ImThatGuy
This isn't a good look.
I get what you're saying about the cap thing, but I assure you, the Tampa Bay Lightning will not trade Kucherov for anything close to fair because they're cap strapped. They have a pile of over-paid, middling forwards that they will shed before they get rid of Stamkos, Kucherov, Point, Hedman and Vasilevski.
Don't start throwing out the groupthink thing.

Mitts is playing above his capabilities? Asplund is too? So is Joker?
Asplund I'd say is playing at his projected level. Mitts and Joker have a much higher ceiling. Mitts especially. - TheSabresTaco
Joker is playing 1RhD because they literally have no one else to play there. IMO he is not a 1RhD. Maybe he becomes one, but he isn't now.
I'm pulling for Asplund, but he was projected as a 3 or 4C. LW is the most populated position in hockey with talent, so again he's playing there because they don't have a 2LW...and at this point, maybe Skinner isn't a 1LW either. Point is, LW should be the easiest position to fill.
Mitts probably tops out at a 3C, which would be great if he can solidify that position with Cozens graduating to 2C next season.
All of that is IMO of course. |

You literally said it yourself with Hedman making 7.8.. I know you're not going to sit here and say "not an 8M defenseman." You can't say it doesn't happen, at all, well except for that one time, and also Vegas is a successful team with one. Dougie will get 9+ from some team, and he's absolutely worth it. Probably won't be us, so you don't gotta worry about it, as we have our bloated contracts already. |

I don't disagree with your logic, getting better players. But you can't just say Kuch could be had easily for our first. I doubt it. He's one of the best players in the league, they'll pay their late first to get themselves out of the trouble like they have 4 years running instead of giving one of best players. That's what good teams do. |

Risto>Sam because of hits and minutes.
This discussion has moved to the 13th floor. - TheSabresTaco
Skimmer > great28
10 goal pace for a whole season at 9 million
12 goals last season. 2.2 million per (basically 1/4) skimmers salary.
Sam is just going thru the motions. Lot's of stones being thrown around, considering the lack of good play by your 2 favorites. DEflEcTIon ClaReNCE KiD. |

Do you think Seattle would select Risto if their choices were Asplund, Miller, Girgensons and Risto?
I dont. I think they would take Asplund but could be incentivized to take Girgensons pretty easily |

The issue with this is the entire league is cap strapped.
Sure the expansion draft will help but no current team can take on a bad player making 5 Mil. |
