it's true.. The Costco here in Mississauga had a line up of over 100 people waiting to get in.. How is that safer than a small independent business?
- PatC80

Grocery stores are the best, everybody digging to get the better piece of produce or the better cut of meat.
How much transfer is going on there.

I'm glad I got the vaccine today.

I want to get the side effects over with, because on Friday night I'm going to a rave in a warehouse with about 10,000 other people.

Masks are for suckers.

Hang in there man.

Sooner or later we will be back to some sort of normalcy.

I didn't want to even to takeout but the wife insisted.
I think they extended it two weeks cause they realized mothers day was coming and they didn't want restaurants open.

So don't shoot the messenger here, but the thinking at the time was that if people could get everything they needed in one trip, it would lower time spent out of house and interactions between people.

Not my thinking.

The government's thinking.

I could have sworn there was a Simpsons where Mayor Quimby was at a rave wearing body paint, but alas, the Googles tells me I'm probably wrong.

So disappointing.

We were doing fine about 3 weeks into January.

Should not have opened up. That is easy for me to say though because I was still employed. A lot of people wanted stuff opened as the cases dropped.

I think we dropped the ball on waiting way too long before re-closing. We should have re-closed as soon as the cases started rising.

People are also to blame. The huge spikes after Christmas and Easter were not a coincidence.

- Aetherial

People are 95% to blame.

I bulk buy at No Frills, The Independent and Sobeys when sales are on.
Cheaper than Costco and no membership fee.

I spoke with a friend this morning.

He (and all his golf buddies) are franking livid right now.

My friend kept on demanding answers from me as to why Ford closed golf courses.

"I don't know, I'm not in the Ford government. I wasn't at the Cabinet meeting where they decided."

"Yeah, but why would they do this? "

"Once again..."

It does seem very weird, though. We were the only jurisdiction in North America to close ski hills. Now golf.

Mike Harris wouldn't have done this, that's for sure.

Interesting.

Costco never has baby back ribs for 3.99, but usually one of those do.
Almost every meat goes on sale at our local markets.
I get it cheaper than the suppliers are selling It to restaurants for on many occasions.

1700+ deaths in India every day this month..
- MaximusAurelius

They get 130,000 dead just from pneumonia in a year. That figure doesn't even include flu, tb, and any other related respiratory condition that can be linked to one of these...

"According to Unicef, India reported 1,27,000 under five deaths due to pneumonia in 2018"

Idiots talking about a 'wall'... lol. you have no clue, passing your 1st world view onto the subcontinentals.

999 out of 1000 new infections are linked to indoor transmission.
based on these findings, one could argue that in outdoor spaces (so good air flow), if not sitting/standing still, masks would not be needed (distancing would be sufficient).

you might have missed that i am working in this field.
i can tell you that people in india (MDs, scientists) very familiar with TB, pneumonia and other infectious diseases are getting very very worried about Covid in India right now.

it's safer to do two separate 1 hour trips then it is to spend 2 hours in one day at the same store.

Costco meat is good quality usually, but priced well beyond the grocery stores.

Get a freezer, buy stuff when it on sale at a regular grocery store.

We have a definite list of stuff we always buy a at Costco, but I also pay attention to prices on things
