if Michaelis is only going to get 6 shifts — and just two over final 2 periods — it’s time to have a look a Lind

I watched this game, I think the tip in the 3rd period was the only time I heard his name. |

I only watched a bit of the second and the third period. Honestly, they didn’t play terribly. Had the run of play (probably score effects) for the most part. Problem is, they just aren’t that good. |

Goals against this season is up .08 from last season but scoring is down .6 per game.
Team is missing Petey, Virtanen, Gaudette. |

Actually noticed guys going to the net and standing in front of the net since we picked up these new guys.
edit: I guess more the 2 leaf games than last night |

Giving up two goals a game in any manor is fine. Avg to give up 2-3 goals nightly.
As you said allowed 4 regulation losses. 1 down 3 to go. |

Ahh to be Carolina..
Your starter goes down? No worries, just roll out the 25 year old rookie who is 11-4-2 with a .932 on the season

The defence of Chicago during decade of playing well. Doesn't matter who is in net. Defence and team defence. |

I mean, yeah, I guess it would be nice to see Lind for 6 shifts to see what he can do... Then we can start asking to see Jasek for six shifts and whoever else after that. |

They are now 10 points away from officially not being able to finish in the top 10. Any combination of Minny getting a point and the Canucks losing a point.
Realistically, I don’t think they can drop any further in the standings (currently 26th), and I don’t think they can pass more than SJS, Detroit (yes, the wings who purposefully tanked are ahead) and maybe Calgary. Though, I suppose a 3-13 finish could do wonders for draft position. |

I think if they want to draft in the top 8 after falling two draft positions, they will have to lose 10 games out of the next 16. |

Basically reiterating what we're all hoping. Canucks need to either win almost every game or lose every game from here on out. |

Well we've seen what Michaelis can do, maybe Lind can show enough to earn 8 shifts? Then the next game 11? It's worth looking at... especially with an expansion draft in the summer |

I had been hoping for them to lose every game about a month before the TDL.
so Green gets fired and JB would have sold more before the TDL. |

I don't know. Green regularly gets praise from the organization, from other organizations, from the media. Is he a bad coach?
I guess if he really told Benning "get me Jay Beagle at any cost" - this is just an example, but if he has the players he wanted and said he would win with, then yes, don't bring him back.
The thing with coaches (and young players) is that they don't give two poops about developing, draft picks, cap space etc. They are only concerned about the next win because at the end of the day they will be judged on their record. It's the GM who has to be able to see the bigger picture. If after half the games you aren't a playoff team, then screw what the coach wants, get rid of the dead weight, add a draft selection or three, start planning for next year. Hurt the players feelings for trading away a guy that was popular in the room? Too (frank)ing bad. Pussies. |

Would love to be happily surprised. Not expecting to be, but have an open mind. I didn't thing Höglander would have an immediate impact, so there's that.
