I want to see Lind but maybe it's better that he doesn't have to play under Green. - manvanfan
I mean, he's practicing under him right now. So if he only has to be coached by him for a max of 16 games...? Don't think that will break him. |

Maybe they're avoiding playing him so that he flys under the radar and doesn't need expansion protection |

Maybe, but you'd think teams would have done enough scouting and projecting to not have a potential 16 games in the NHL sway their decision that much.
Though, I remember a ways back when they got Markstrom some untelevised games in Europe and waivered him down with no one picking him up... |

That was a split squad game with the Sharks. Markstrom played in Stockton or something - no television and was on waivers and sent down the next day. Went on to take the AHL team to the Calder final against Willie Desjardins and the Stars.
To be fair, Markstrom was absolute garbage in the handful of games he played with the Canucks after the Luongo trade. I saw him against Colorado at the end of that (Tortarella) season. |

Some good news, the Canucks play the leafs twice more, right after the Ottawa series, so they should get a couple more wins before the season ends. |

Ya, clearly different than Lind – Marky was not good at that time. I remember reading about him coming from the Florida organization and they didn't even really have a goalie coach for him? lol

Ya but it sounds like you can mix Moderna and Pfizer but not Astra. That’s the problem. They are offering Astra now and they aren’t sure they can secure the 2nd dose. Hence why some people want to hold out for Pfizer |

Yeah, true story.
Before he came over to Florida he was “the best goalie not playing in the NHL” |

Jason Robertson last season in the AHL had 47 points in 60 games.
Kole Lind had 44 in 61 in the AHL.
Robertson 41 games 36 points in the NHL this season.
I could never imagine Lind being a ppg player but Sutter at 10pts in 38 is the highest bottom 6 scorer the Canucks have right now. The other 8 guys combined have 24 points this season.
Virtanen alone had 36 points last season.
Canucks bottom 6 this season have found a lower point than last season. |

I don't know. Green regularly gets praise from the organization, from other organizations, from the media. Is he a bad coach?
I guess if he really told Benning "get me Jay Beagle at any cost" - this is just an example, but if he has the players he wanted and said he would win with, then yes, don't bring him back.
The thing with coaches (and young players) is that they don't give two poops about developing, draft picks, cap space etc. They are only concerned about the next win because at the end of the day they will be judged on their record. It's the GM who has to be able to see the bigger picture. If after half the games you aren't a playoff team, then screw what the coach wants, get rid of the dead weight, add a draft selection or three, start planning for next year. Hurt the players feelings for trading away a guy that was popular in the room? Too (frank)ing bad. Pussies. - 1970vintage
Green getting praise because the media would make it out as if the Canucks are a bottom 5 team in the league every single season because the Leafs rebuild was better and even they haven't made it out of the first round.
I would guess FA has a big role in giving parameters for Jim to work in. |

To me it doesn't matter whether Green is respected by media, other organizations or the Canuck organization (which is worse, because they are then satisfied with mediocrity).
I cannot stand the systems that are employed by this coaching staff, it has been a failure for the last 4 years. I cannot stand the supposedly awesome development and game use of young prospects. There isn't any creativity when faced with adversity, Green is constantly out coached and doesn't have the ability to get one up on his peers.
I was a supporter of Benning over the years but I have also lost faith in his ability to provide the team with the proper players and coaching personnel to be any better than a 500 club. Benning should be removed with the majority of the coaching staff.
One bright spot from last night was Highmore being aggressive on the puck, I'm sure that is something that will be coached out of him if Green stays on for next season...just collapse the net Highmore, don't worry about forcing the player...it's all about collapsing around the net..

These parts.
I have supported Benning because there have been much worse at the most important part of a team building, drafting.
For the last couple of years it has felt as if Jim and Travis aren't on the same level. I do think that FA is part to blame.
Jim has got to get the team a better coach otherwise, he can hit the unemployment line as well.

Yeah, as I said, I don’t really know enough about coaching to say he is good or he isn’t. Only that people in the hockey industry seem to think he is. For instance, there was nothing that I saw last night that suggested to me that a different coach could have better results. Ottawa was tight in the neutral zone - the only option was to dump the puck in. But it was 2-0 and they were doing their best AV or Guy Boucher impression by that point. |

Ivermectin just approved as a miracle drug that's less dangerous than tylenol for covid and it costs 2$ a dose. Docs have been using it along with hcq from the beginning of this plandemic. |
