Its much easier to say that a NCAA college player could/should use a full year of AHL before he should play in the pros, but we should dissect Rathbone's career with some comparables before we go any further.
In Quinn Hughes last season in the NCAA, his stats were
32 games played, 5 goals, 28 asissts, 33 pts, 16 pims, -2
Adam Fox in his last season in NCAA, his stats were
33 games played, 9 goals, 39 assists, 48 points, 14 pims, +23
Jack Rathbone in his last season in NCAA, his stats were
28 games played, 7 goals, 24 assists, 31 points, 16 pims, +/- 0
all 3 of these players were on good teams, and were 1st pairing defenseman. I think Jack could easily use more time in the AHL, but I don't think its fair to quickly shut down Donny and say that he wouldn't be better than Edler/Tryamkin at this stage. Kids are better earlier, we see that nightly and yearly. Edler is declining really quickly. I also just realized that in his 37 games played, he doesn't have a goal. - Codes1087
Rathbone would be playing if Canucks didn't have QH. That said what role should he be in?

I’d prefer Rathbone playing over OJ. They should both play but Rathbone is certainly a better prospect |

If we are speaking to roles, than why insert Tryamkin when you have Myers?
In 39 games played this year, the Canucks have 10 goals from defenseman in all situations. Maybe its just me, but I think we need more Quinn Hughes and Rathbone type defenseman than we do more Myers and Tryamkins.

I sort of like what Olli has shown this year when he has been given minutes. I would prefer Olli or Jack over Edler/Tryamkin at this point. |

It was counter to NH's physicality and PK point on replacing Edler. I'd sign Tryamkin and if he takes after a season then trading Myers becomes an option.
Next season there will be 3 starter D spots open. Rathbone has a shot just as much as OJ and Tryamkin. |

He's played lots of games, he's just one of those players that's invisible out there.
Edit: 16 games, how do you scout a player that looks like he's in the press box. |

It's 12 goals from the D this year.
Canucks certainly do need someone who can score goals 5v5 a bit more often. It would help if they weren't defending so much.
Rathbone has a heavy shot, would probably help the 2nd PP as well. It's has been pretty abysmal this season as well. |

OJ is a new age defender. Pinches in a lot more when the puck is coming around the wall and the players back is turned to them. Applied pressure at the blue lines to force the chip and chase. Keep players on the outside.
Defenders Edler were always taught to just keep the player at a distance and collapse in front of the net. Physical in the corners and cross check anyone who stands in front of your net.
Part of why OJ is invisible is because it looks a lot simpler compared to Edler who is always in chaos. |

Lucky guy. Not
Many people have access to Pfizer in Canada. Either take a junk vaccine or wait for Biden to bail out Trudeau - CanuckDon
Don’t think that is actually the case...just that the Pfizer supply has been directed at health care, front line and at-risk populations, rather than healthy young people who are “at less risk”, like you.
In Ontario, pharmacies are distributing Astra Zeneca while the provincial & regional clinics are using Pfizer. Different priorities, same goal.
Please don’t try to make the argument that Premier Ford’s administration has been better at managing this than other provinces... |
