Caulfield is going to make his debut for Montreal tonight. Canucks need to counter that by bring in Lind.

I just hope Lind gets more than 6 minutes of icetime.

Do you actually believe Lind will make a difference?
- CanuckDon

50/50 chance he is better than the previous players that occupied that spot before.

I suppose so. But it’s very unlikely he moves the needle

I agree with you other than the bottom 6 signings are hindsight. When signed we were not expecting young players to excel so fast. My only knock is we as a group thought term was 1 year too long on most or all UFA’a. Lastly nobody saw Covid coming which strained every teams cap & plans.

Well nighty some saw contract's and said WTF right from the beginning, which means they question the GM right from the beginning. Most didn't want LE, many didn't want Beagle or Roussel. Some didn't want Myers or Sutter at that amount, and many questioned the Ferland signing. I'm not harping on it, just stating how it is.

The only thing Covid has done is give teams with ample cap space more room to operate or teams with full, competent rosters more security. Aside from that, everyone is dealing with the same situation which includes reduced salaries for new signings.

We had cap issues before Covid hit, I don't think they're any worse now than they were before except it became more expensive to move the problem contracts.

All good points but rather look ahead & dig out from those issues. Some are expiring & others could retire on LTIR.

We were not & are not contenders just yet. Next year or more likely 22/23 is a better window

That's the issue, we were trading picks and adding FA's like we were.

I am looking ahead with great anticipation as we search for our new GM.

It appeared that way but we also had depth issues. Again some questionable term & maybe 1-2 signings we could’ve done different.

This offseason will be a crucial time.

Green is coaching for his career/ job. I doubt he gives a b level rookie a shot while they are in the race. Can’t blame him.

I think that when you're a bottom 5 team then take your lumps and your draft picks. Don't trade them or sacrifice your draft position by trying to be competitive by signing high priced FA's to longer deals.

Shortcuts rarely work in life. Anyways, it's the hand we're playing now so I just want a better poker player moving forward.

Does it matter? It's more about getting him NHL ice time so he knows what is expected next year.

We get to see Vesey back in Zac Mac out. I told you he was too physical for Green.

His career is safe. It's the job that might not be. Honestly, as a B level rookie, how much worse can Lind be than Gaudette? Gauds got a decent look and share of icetime despite Green Coaching for his livelihood.
