I was checking IMD to see what date Dune was now coming out and saw a list of remakes/reboots coming out in the next few years...hoooolleeee foook. Starship Troopers remake? There were like 50 unnecessary ones. Was pretty sad. If a movie sucked, but had a cool concept, remake it. Don't take actual quality stuff and re-do it. Why do we need a new Scarface re-make? - AdamFrench

Discovery was great... takes a bit to get into, but Michelle Yeoh as a sadistic female dog captain is money. Jason Isaacs was great, especially after... Nah... No spoilers. I'm looking forward to see where they go with Picard, especially Rios and his cadre of holograms, who are just (frank)ing MONEY. Q is back for season 2 Wich is even more exciting... Stewart and DeLancie trading barbs? Yes please!

Nailed it. It's why Westworld on HBO (at least season 1) was great. Cool idea that had no money or studio behind it when it was made way back when.
Why are we remaking dumb ideas? Why are we remaking movies that were already awesome and hold up? (frank)ing money grabs and lazy writing
Lower Decks is hilarious. It's Star Trek making fun of how (frank)ing ridiculous Star Trek is. Funny on its own, funnier if you get the jokes. - Darksyde
So worth a shot? Lower Deck is an awesome waterfront pub in Halifax

This is where I'll come in and defend Star Trek... The show was always about various issues in society, be it the racial and sexual division in society, political issues, etc... Does it get rehashed? Sure. But, like comic books, it's a serial, meant to be revisited over time, and even looked back upon to see our progression as a society. It's not meant to be a one off and done.

People used to talk about the seven basic plots and how almost every story falls into them. South Park pointed out "Simpsons did it!" because there's only so many plots and after the amount of time Simpsons has been on (that episode is from 2002 and Simpsons is still going) it's hard not to have similar plots. Pretty sure Simpsons has done more than one "My Fair Lady" episode. Family Guy has done more than one as well I think.
Star Trek is bound to have overlap at this point. To French's point though, Star Trek and Starship Troopers aren't in the same conversational ball park

Might as well do this... - Darksyde
poop, I can see the jokes, too, in Ant-Man 3... He does his classic recap, but really fast, and Scott asks him if he's on drugs, so he sniffs, looks at the camera, says, "Nah, nah..." And continues...
Later in the film, tosses Ant-Man at a bad guy..."SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND!"...
i would assume they'll do everything they can to keep Caufield as well as Evans in the lineup. they add a dimension to this lineup that is otherwise in short supply. - DoubleDown
I mean this was obvious weeks ago and half the roster had to be sick/injured for both of them to be in. Bergevin/ducharme really messed up with their recalls thing, they really just wasted them on unecessary recalls like they had forgotten the rule. So I would not put too much confidence on them making the best decision now either.
