Canucks fans need to learn patience. If they want to fix the top 6 it needs to be done through the draft. Podkolzin and hopefully a center this year. Allows us to keep Miller on the wing - CanuckDon

It sure is. Next year will be awkward with Pod and Hog both being on the team, it's not a given that either will be able to play top 6 right away, but you can't exactly sign another top 6 fwd now with Pearson locked in. - NorthNuck
Pearson is signed to a good contract for what he does for us. Beagle, Roussell, Eriksson are the issues. Once they are gone, we are able to get better.
If the rumours of beagle possibly being out next season(and hopefully Roussell with that last injury) are true, that gives us a lot of room to navigate the cap. Maybe it is worth trying to dump Eriksson after we pay bonus this year? |

Benning wanted to keep Toffoli and improve the team but he couldn’t because of the Beagles, Loui’s etc |

That's what I said though. He improperly allocated cap to the bottom 6. We don't know 100% sure if he tried to sign toffoli or not, but regardless if he tried or didn't, he put himself in a position where he couldn't, which 100% falls on him regardless.
To add, he had the space to sign toffoli if he let virtanen walk and used a buyout on sutter. They chose not to, so again, he failed there too |

This is also untrue. He wasn’t authorized for any buyouts. The fanbase would be livid if he let Virtanen walk after his “breakout “ 18 goal season |

Hopefully. It would be nice if Beagle were done, and they buy out another big contract. Adding a top 6 winger and maybe upgrading one of the top 4 Dmen would make a huge impact on the teams position in the standings. |

Truth is you have speculated on a SH!T TON of hindsight. Made a bunch of accusations without parameters. Pretended like you predicted the future about 7 times.
Not a video game, being an NHL GM is WAY harder than you think. |

Or you could fire the GM who started the slow burn of this dumpster fire. Horvat will be in the twilight of his career by the time 'Day by day Jim' builds a competitive team. P1 MTA's or not. |

What's untrue is we don't actually know whether or not he was allowed or wasn't, but what we do know is that he had one available and it never was used.
As far as the fanbase goes, who cares. You don't build a championship roster and do so by appeasing a fanbase. I wanted toffoli signed and virtanen let go as soon as the playoffs ended. |

This is the 2nd time you have said I have used hindsight when it isn't the truth. I wanted toffoli re-signed and virtanen let go long before any of this happened. I'm sure there are receipts somewhere |

Jim needs to stop adding the "sea of granlunds" or the "meat and potatoes" types.
Needs yam fries and prime rib.
Needs players that aren't just okay at everything but are great in different aspects of the game, even if they aren't great at other areas. |

Short sighted thinking. It’s not just about the fanbase. If Jim let’s his young high draft pick that has shown improvement YOY go and he improves from 18 goals to 22? 25? That’s a serious black mark on Jim’s resume. He has enough already

Teams let high and or 1st round draft picks go all the time, whether in free agency or trade. You make business decisions based on what's best for the team, and not trying to save face on your drafting decisions. |

Im sure when Jim re-signed Virtanen he thought that he was also going to hit an all time low this season. 😉😉
Not to mention how forwards ive heard in here always start declining around Tofolli's age instead of have career year. |

Clearly
One has 25 goals, the other has 4 points.
And or course it doesn't matter what I want or what I'm vocal about. It has no bearing on decisions, no ones does. My point is, you're trying to say that I'm basing my opinion solely on hindsight when it's the complete untrue. You've said it 2 or 3 times now. I'm merely saying, it's not hindsight when you have been preaching on it well before it all happens. |
