For what it's worth, Renaud isn't doing a bad job.

He just had more credibility working for RDS.

From 31 Thoughts:

Huge Monday night for the Canadiens, who beat Calgary and saw Vancouver lose in Ottawa. With Alexander Romanov sent to the taxi squad so Cole Caufield and Jake Evans could play in emergency situations, Montreal still has one post-trade-deadline recall. Caufield and Evans must leave the active roster once either Paul Byron or Jonathan Drouin are healthy. To bring back Caufield, Evans or Romanov onto the roster during the regular season means Montreal must burn its final call-up (while staying under the cap). And the only Canadiens who can go to the taxi squad are Byron and Romanov, because they were there on deadline day.

These movement limitations really suck. Romanov should be a priority for this 1 move left, you can't leave him on the taxi squad until playoff time... the ideal scenario would be that they manage to secure a playoff spot and rest a few older guys here and there

The limitations do suck but MB's love of depth and all that caused this. If it bites the Habs MB should be the one taking the blame. The NHL on the other hand is basically saying you can't play your most exciting young players because of some dumb arbitrary rules we created just for this season - but the rules were there before MB made his decisions so ultimately it's on him

yeah, they were aware of the situation so it definitely should've been managed better, I agree. as much as I'd like to keep Evans there I think he'll have an easier time re-inserting the lineup come playoff time than a young dman like Romanov... really wish though they could do whatever the (frank) they wanted, and keep Caufield, Romanov and Evans there, oh well.

It's Andrew Ference.

The graphics guy literally did a google image search for "Oilers Captain" and just cropped the first front facing action shot he could find.
