Decent chance two of those guys are gone next year. They seem to be unimpressed by Delia. And one of Lanky and Subban might be in Seattle.
- mohel

They all 3 will be here because they are signed for next year. I would be shocked if Subban was selected. Of course that would show you how low they think of Connolly, deHann and whoever else is unprotected.

Time to get Delia in a game or 2, just to see what he has vs. Lank vs. Subban. Playoffs are not an option anymore.
- powerenforcer

What would it tell us they know what he is? Lank and Subban played great at times this year. Doesn't mean they're great. Delia we know has zero fundamentals. He was zero two years ago, he was zero the beginning of this year. I'm betting he's still zero.

Not that they are prophetic in any way but the Athletic had Gaudette getting picked by the Kraken. Time will tell but could see that as their choice.

Last night was another example of the hawks needed more toughest not necessarily size, that would help, but team and individual toughest. Murphy and big z cannot not fight worth a lick either. Not saying go get a goon or tom Wilson although i wouldn't mind him on are team but a different discussion. But a response you our best players we hit your best players muck it up play dirty if have to etc..

Gerard Gallant named head coach of Team Canada

Wow so the IIHF tourney is made up of coaches and players that either their teams did not make the playoffs, or they don't play in the NHL. If Gallant is so wonderful, how come he is not busy at this time? Like the article said, he has nothing else to do, he is unemployed. Interesting he still hasn't found work.

Maybe not quite count him “out” (as he often is), but they best not be counting on him to be “the man”, and his frequent injuries have to factor in to contract considerations, no matter how good he is when healthy.
- Ogilthorpe2

Agreed. Don't count him out but he is listed at 179lbs. I doubt he is north of 165lbs. He looks like a teenager (and was one until this year) and he really isn't adept at avoiding hits like Keith and Kane were/are. He gets pushed off balance a lot.

This is what happens when you play a 20 year old kid against grown men (albeit some of the injuries are just bad luck).

Sure he is getting nice experience but he could've stayed in JRs and worked on adding strength.

Guys like Kalynuk and Mitchell spent multiple seasons in college and in a college strength and conditioning program. Those extra few years make a difference from a physical development standpoint.

Laviolette, DeBoer, Hynes were fired around the same time, they found jobs. New Jersey, Minnesota, Calgary, Montreal, and Buffalo have replaced their coaches since Gallant was fired.

Just thought I mention this goofy wrinkle to the Draft:

If Arizona (First pick was taken away), they re draft.

So IF the hawks were to say win one the 1o slot jump and they Coyotes win another, the ENIRE DRAWING is THROWN OUT.

That seems BS (onlybif WE win, lol).

They simply dont want to recalibrate the pin=g pongs balls with just 15 participants, to they will keep drawing until Arizona doesn't win.

(Kinda negative publicity for that franchise and that itself is interesti8ng in a league whose owners seemed to always protect their fellow owners in word and deed.)

Would it be something if the Blackhawks lost and Arizona won and say Seattle) and they re-draw, and the Hawks and say the Rangers were move up?

Wiz i know its early and the draft class this year difficult to judge due to covo virus but who could be a sleeper pick in the 1st round?

There was some discussion at the end of the last blog about Boqvist's continuing health problems. His concussion history is a concern, but there is the broken wrist now, and I believe he had a shoulder injury last year causing him to miss some games. Yes, it's a physical game and injuries happen, but it seems like, as someone wrote last night, he is "made of glass" and is the type of player who is injury prone and won't go through a season without missing numerous games.

Is it time to count him out as the star defenseman of the future?

- boilermaker100

I don't know if it is time to count him out but he is a lightweight who has been thrown in with the heavyweights way to early .He himself said he was 3 or 4 years away when drafted but was up with the big club in a year and a half he should have finished out his Jr. in London under Hunter then done 1 or 2 years in the A they have a real mess on their hands now the kids confidence is shot .Why the rush we were not going anywhere the last few years any way bad Asset management

I agree with the statement, and although it is time for looking at everybody, I think the coach wants his new youthful roster to tank.

Does giving Seattle a chance to see Delia in the pros desuade them from taking Florida's Dreiger, Khudobin (not overpaid) ,Mzarek (UNPROTECTED maybe ), Cam Talbot (UNPROTECTED maybe ), injured Pavel Francouz, a youth Capitals 'tender?

Following the Vegas template, Fleury was a big bonus, and maybe just maybe the salary of a veteran is ok if they guy can keep them in games.

Wow that was disappointing.

Man those TB forwards and D danced around our D. Ever their 4th line was smoothly passing around our players. TB's players are skilled. Even if our players were able to play a system better and had fewer blunders, we would have lost. We still have a long way to go- even our stalwarts who are more stable than others- Hagel and Kalynuk were victimized on occasions in this game. Keith played better in this one.

Bummer about Boquist too. He really is injury prone.

Let our young core develop though. At this point, I think we are out. I'd like to get as high a a pick as possible to continue the rebuild.

Are you saying that if the Hawks had a different coach (lets say Gerard Gallant), they still would lose more often than not because Tampa has better personnel? Blasphemy!!!!

They all 3 will be here because they are signed for next year. I would be shocked if Subban was selected. Of course that would show you how low they think of Connolly, deHann and whoever else is unprotected.

YOU asked the right guy as he was going to go delivery soup as part of my soup ministry.

I think that this will the toughest draft to get 32 correct first rounders as the this one (called weak, hard to evaluate, etc.) has a load of kids that can play make impact into
that second.

An example is the Steel's Mackie Samoskevich, who started out a first rounded, and the everybody loved teammate Matt Coronato both who could go in the first.

I just looked at the list and if I simply subtract RUSSIANS (because there are variables that I don't control or are privy to),
and I see at least an unheard of 48 prospects whom a team might select.

(I said earlier this year here that maybe the Hawks take Colton Dach if they were IN the playoffs and let him percolate and develop).

There are plenty of players with upside that I have in my second that may be selected in the first. https://www.lines.com/nhl/drafts

The Blackhawks #61 ;'s brother is there RW Chase Stillman, and he is good.

I wouldn't be surprised if goalie Sebastian Cossa gets taken in the 1st.

Or giant 6' 6 Samuel Helenius ('member his dad?)

Scott Morrow is a sleeper who easily could go.

To me the real part of "sleepers" in this class areal the guys left around the hawks pick.
Every night I mentally go through it.
I am not even thinking about wishful thinking drops from above;i am talking about will be there guys.
Read my profiles you decide who you like but into the 20s there are players, who in time, may play into on a level of the top second their guys.

And as I also have said the entire first 4 rounds might yield slip-through guys that inferior NHL scouting staffs had farther down on their lists...

I like thuis draft.
