I've always given Maurice the benefit of the doubt. I understand that Chevy is also responsible for providing the coaching the staff the right tools for the lineup. After the embarrassing first loss to the Oilers, I just don't understand Maurice going with the same line-up, especially when we have better players just wasting in the press box and on the Moose.

Our defense is in shambles like last season. We no longer can depend on them even attempting a cycle and we spend entire shifts in our own zone just working for a flip dump to center ice. I don't care if we had more shots, we are no longer dangerous.

The Jets 2 weeks ago were 2 points out of first when they swung and missed at the trade deadline. Stanley is better than Benn on the left side and we know Benn is better on his off side playing the right so we should be trying him in the place of Demelo or Poolman. Chevy said since summer we need a puck moving defenseman so why is Heinola not playing? Earlier this year, he made the all star team for the world juniors along with names like Bowen Byram and Trevor Zegras. We have now lost 5 in a row. Give him a shot since we're not winning with Forbert on the ice. He was a -4 the first game against the Oilers. Stanley is perfect on the 3rd pairing and gives us some sandpaper.

With better players just sitting out games, perhaps Chevy needs to rethink his loyalty to Maurice. We are a draft and develop team but we refuse to develop players past the AHL. Maybe Pascal Vincent who is an amazing coach might be better suited to take this team to the next level.

Chevy may be doing this. If I recall correctly, during the trade deadline presser, Chevy did mention something about wanting to see heinola in the lineup.
Maurice played heinola in 1 game since that comment by Chevy.

Like I said before. The rest of the regular season games mean absolutely nothing now. Damage was done in the last four games. Why not try some of this young talent on the back end. Nothing to lose and you may find a couple of gems right in your own system!

And if Maurice is going to use the excuse of getting the team that he has ready for post season he has missed the point. The lineup he put out in the last few games is not the lineup that will win in the playoffs. He is stubborn.

His stubbornness will end his tenure in Winnipeg this summer.

Here is hoping Jetter!

The sad thing is that I picked the Jets to win the division and cup and that was in spite of Maurice’s poopty coaching. This year has proven that no matter how talented a team is, poopty coaching can bring it down! I have lost all faith in Uncle Paul.

I agree with you that there was that potential for this team to win the North and make the semis again. Chevy missed swinging for the fences this trade deadline.

Who knows maybe some players he targeted did not want to come to Winnipeg!

I can’t imagine that there was not a deal to be made that would have helped this team on the backend.

Maybe expansion draft was a factor as well.

I’ll be cheering for the boys but will have that 80’s sinking feeling that existed when we played in the smythe division

Nice loss tonight.
Let’s stick with the same defensive lineup against Ottawa!

Getting tough to watch this team right now

Too bad our league wide 14th best PK was unable to stop the mighty Montreal power play.

I couldn't watch, how many powerplay goals did the Habs get?

The Jets penalty kill sucks, some are probably gonna try to use Lowry's absence as an excuse for the PK sucking which would be weak imo, if he wins the faceoff they might be able to clear it but other then that he pretty much just stands there like a stump.

The Jets PK is far too passive and lacks structure, what the forwards are attempting to do on it no one knows, the strategy needs an overhaul.

Montreal went 2/3 on the power play. Looks like Maurice is taking our PK back to familiar territory prior to season end where it routinely finishes below 20 but in the top 30.

I can’t remember the last time we won a game by outworking the other team. Maybe in the tanev days, and prime Perrault. Hard work trumps skill except when skill works. Our fourth line is the only line we can count on to match the intensity of the opposition- and I will be the first to say it... Thompson is an excellent skater, good edges, very good speed.

Vesalainen was good, used his size and showed some creativity.

There was a few times we could have cycled the puck longer before putting it to the net on the pp, let them be aggressive and play themselves out, then get the better scoring chance and better chance of winning the next puck battle.

Agree on the passivity. Ottawa plays that high pressure PK and those PK'ers are working hard. Admittley, I haven't look at the Sens PK stats but Wpg's PK is passive and hasn't changed in 6 years.

Who is this kid, would like to see more. Let's see..............supposed to a beast along the walls, good offensive skills, battles hard for pucks, difficult to move in front of the net, heavy shot.....6 4 207. Hmmmm, maybe play the kid more often and give him some room to grow. Don't you want this type of player getting regular action?

Send him to the Moose, lol Berdin should have a game, Heinola should be going in and out rotating with Stanely. Why not give Samberg a game? Jordie Benn as a regular?

At some point a coach is supposed to play the players in the system. I am now fully onboard with a full coaching change for this team.

Speaking of Vesalainen, I would like to him start with PLD as his center next year as a regular. Not sure who you would put on the right side but that could be a power line of skill and big bodies.

Comments? Who could you stick on the right side?

I think our best players have checked out on Uncle Paul. They are playing like they were in that game that Claude Noel got fired, uninterested.

just my opinion but Chevy could've traded for three awesome pieces and our coach would still get out coached and lose.
