I saw someone post the 49ers attempted trade 3rd overall + for Rodgers. I thought it was a joke. What the hell? They just traded there next 3-1st round picks to get up to #3 now they don't have a guy they like enough to draft there? Wow.

I think getting Rodgers makes them a Super Bowl favorite in the NFC for the next 3 - 4 years. I am a little bit surprised that GB said but I guess they are thinking the same.

I found 2 examples of the best player taken in a draft being the 25th or later overall pick since the 2004 draft.

The 2011 draft where Nikita Kucherov was taken 58th overall in the 2nd round.

Perhaps the best was the 2010 draft when Mark Stone was taken 178th overall in the 6th round. Stone exploded in scoring the 2 years after he was drafted, in the WHL (106 in 71 and 123 in 66).
