i'd like to see sandstrom get a start or 2 for the flyers before the end if the year, wouldn't hurt to put a little pressure on carter hart from behind

He hasn’t even gotten into a rhythm at the AHL level. It’s not what is best for Sandstrom throwing him in with the Flyers in their current state.

As fans we are tired of complaining about Elliot and Lyon, we need a new goalie to female dog about!

You answered your own question.

Instead of resigning those guys you move them at any cost and to a total tear-down we should have done in the first place.

- DrMidnite

Where was my question?

And re: what you suggest, what is in it for Dave Scott and Comcast? If you were running a profitable business, would you take a guaranteed 20% drop in revenue each of next 4 years for a 20% chance they will go up by 2% for the next 5?

They are not gonna welcome fans back after a year of losses with a rebuild, ok? Its not gonna happen. You will see some noise to show they are serious about avoiding a repeat of past season. I suspect a marquee trade, probably TK+Sanheim+1st or thereabouts for a RHD who will be better than Provorov. If Seattle does not take Jake/JVR, I would think Roo will be asked for a list of teams.

You are assuming they would be THAT much less competitive if they should move those 3 guys.

I don't subscribe to that theory.

That is all

Ah ok, By complete rebuild, I thought you meant sans Couts.

But anyway, even that (those 3) are not going to go away all together this summer. They will likely overpay for Jones, would be my guess.

I will be pretty impressed if they do nothing but shed btw.

I’ve been a Flyers fan since 1970 and still remember missing the playoffs in 1971 in the last game of the season, 4 seconds left in a 2-2 game . We tie we make the playoffs, Gerry Meehan scores on Doug Favell with 4 seconds left in the game. I remember thinking 4 seconds, there is still time!!

Well this current team is out of time! In my opinion there is talent on this team but something is missing in the locker room/ leaders on this team. They don’t seem to put in the effort and don’t have a good competitive spirit. They get beat to the puck, don’t skate hard on the back check and they don’t seem to have much if any pride. When the game is on the line they don’t seem to have that push to want to win. They don’t mind losing!

I think AV is the 3-4 coach with this veteran group , it’s not the coach! If they tuned him out like I’m reading it’s the 3-4 coach they tuned out! The veterans need to be better listeners! Or time to get coachable players with pride!

I’m bet everyone in the locker room ( players / coaches/ GM) know what the underlying reason or players are. It is now time for the GM to make the hard decisions and trade or demote ( captain, alternate captain) and get the right leaders in place before next season. The management has to decide if this is the new “ Flyers hockey” we are seeing this year or make changes to get back to the “Flyers Hockey” the competitive, hate to lose teams of the past.

I guess we will see this summer! Good night and ( hopefully next year) good hockey!

What a bunch of useless overpaid bums and that goes for coaches and management. There must be something in the water in Philly, hopefully Carter Hart is not the next goalie to be ruined in this city. Go Caps, Isles, Wild, all playoff teams, good luck.

Well said Hosher, been a Flyer fan for just about as long but this year I am absolutely embarrassed to call myself a Fan of this team. It is so brutal that I am moving on and trading all my Flyers in Fantasy. It is not good to be such a competitor that I am and have to watch this lackadaisical approach almost every game. What has happened to Hayes, Hart, Myers, Konecny to name a few that should be on the rise but instead all falling fast. Hoping a year off and a good start can help my mental state but for now I am done.

BLASPHEMY!!! He has taken two teams to the SCF and won a Jack Adams trophy!! The least of this team's issues is with the coaching staff; I mean, cf unequivocally told the world that coaching is not an issue and that no coaching staff member will be replaced.

Do not EVER -- EVER question the coaching chops of Alain Vigneault again.

AV is a moron. He has destroyed the confidence of most players, Hayes, Konency and Hart for sure. He plays Patrick big time and the guy is kinda useless at this stage. AV still has not made Giroux accountable, just like no coach before him. Heads surely must roll but they probably won't.

This is what I see. I see a bunch of players who have zero confidence in themselves or each other. They work hard, but they work stupid. None of them can do their jobs because they are all worried that someone else isn't going to do theirs and they try to do it for them.

So defensively they consistently lose their own assignments trying to cover for someone else who left their assignments and everything breaks down catastrophically...over and over. Mix in the fact the goalies cant seem to make a hard save when one is needed, and every mistake looks even worse.

Offensively they are a tire fire. Constantly trying to make the cute pass or tricky thing with the puck like they are the 85 Oilers. Passing up shot after shot after shot after shot for some low percentage extra pass when they should be dumping it in, shooting and crashing the net. But they never get that far because they tried some blind behind the back pass to no one and the puck ends up going the other way.

They cant play simple basic hockey because they over complicate everything. They are their own worst enemies even before the opposing team hits the ice.

Thats twice the production of Nolan. Ghost is part of a vastly underperforming team, that had a good record until March but were not playing well as proven by an overwhelming disparity in shots for and against. They've had severe issues with puck control leading to inopportune turnovers since the very beginning of the season. Not a single player or coach should be spared severe criticism. AV says he knows what is causing at least the most recent issues, but is not dicussing them. They cannot remove all of the players, apparently the coaches are all safe as stated by CF. Its time...at the end of the season...for team ownership to make a strong statement that this type of performance will not be accepted ever again. The talent on this team is not as bad as the level they have demonstrated. They may not be grest, but they should not lose 4 straight to the Devils or lose as they have since March. Someone or several someones need to be held accountable!

The assistant coaches would be gone easily if I’m running poop. Special teams have been terrible for multiple seasons.

PK was 11th on the NHL last season and was top 10 for most of it. PP was in the top half.

Not great, but not "terrible". They have regressed this season.

What is wrong with Hart and Provorov?

I have said that I thought these guys would win the Vezina and Norris trophies one day.

Is it just the team bringing them down, or is it vice versa, particularly with Hart? Bad goaltending can destroy a team.

Hart had an awful, truly awful month of March. Before that, he played better than his stats would suggest and Team D was the main issue except in 3 specific games (two of which were against the Bruins). He got in his own head, more than anything else. In April, he started to pull things back together and then got injured.

Provorov has had a just OK season. He needs a better -- and steadier in terms of keeping them together -- D partner.
