Yeah, and?
The guy is right. When you sign a guy for 7 years and 50 million and he’s playing poorly in year 2, that’s a problem. Having the 2nd OA pick from just 4 years ago playing like a 4th liner is perhaps even worse. - BiggE
Hayes is having a crappy year. He had a good one last year. Either which way, the Flyers still needed an additional productive center. In today's NHL, teams need three lines that can score. Two won't cut it. |

Exactly my point and it sucks that a 2nd OA pick and signing a guy for 7 years and north of 7 million per did not solve the problem. |

There are a few free agents that I think the Flyers should seriously consider in this price range that would increase their speed, toughness and leadership up front.
Nick Foligno
Jayden Schwartz
Brandon Saad
On defense, here are two FAs I would seriously consider for the Flyers.
Mike Reilly - done a great job on Boston since the deadline, good puck moving player
Adam Larsson - increases toughness and defensive play in your own end - jd250
i like Schwartz. Schenn is really impacted when he is out of the line up |

You can see how the Penguins attack the slot area with one time passes, the Flyers offensive is completely outside the slot .. big difference! |

Yeah, he’s been pretty awful. I get the physical issues and long layoff, but he’s just been awful. At worst, I thought he’d be a solid 3C this season. He’s not even remotely close to that. At this point, I think solid 3C is probably his ceiling. |

and yet teachers do not want to teach students in a classroom setting 5 days a week and the commander in chief wears two masks while socially distanced outside, in direct contrast of the science and the cdc's guidance.
The bolded part is not anything new to those who actually follow the science and don't virtue signal or try to scare/bully people into submission. There is no reason for any local municipality, city, or state to have any kind of mask mandate or any part of their economies shut down - corduroy
Not everyone is vaccinated and no one knows if a vaccinated person can transmit the virus. I’m fully vaccinated, but my wife and daughter are not yet. I wear a mask in public and appreciate others wearing masks because I’d rather not give covid to my wife and daughter (or to any unvaccinated person I might come in contact with). Seems to me the president is just being considerate of those he comes in contact with. My friend’s 13 year old nephew (in the suburban Philadelphia area) just tested positive for covid on Saturday. Things are trending in the right direction, but it’s not time to let your guard down yet. |

I know, right? It was positively tragic that the Islanders needed J-G Pageau on top of Barzal and Nelson. - bmeltzer
Oh yeah because that’s the same thing |

To be fair.. Biden is almost 80 and in the most dangerous group so he should be doing those things. |

Your the gm. What’s the first move you make this off-season? - GPerogie
I would RESIGN and tell my next employer I’ll try not have my head up my.... and think that Eric Gustafson will replace Matt Niskanin.
I will also support my next coaching staff by walking into the locker room and call out the players sleeping through games.
You get my point, I would lead by example and show my team losing is not acceptable and losing is NOT fun! Think of Brad Pitt in Money Ball”
I will lead my next team from the front ,as a leader should, I can’t ask my my team ( coaches and players) to care more about winning then I do.
Or I would just make excuses ( COVID and lack of practice time hurts us) and use several corporate buzz words (bias for action, retool etc) and go about my normal routine. |

The worry is this, Bill. It is not that he is having a crappy year this year. It is that he had aberrant year last year. This year, he is on pace for 45+ points and 20 goals. Almost exactly his pace in 6 of the 7 seasons he has played (all except last year). |

Thank you. Bill basically named 3 centers. We’re talking needing another center on top of Couturier (who will need a raise), Hayes and Patrick who we need to reach his full potential. Barzel for the time being is cheap but playing like a top center in the nhl. |

Guess I'll keep watching the Phillies. Flip it over real quick to see G bury one to make it 3-0.

It's very much the same thing. The Flyers came into this season hoping Patrick would step up and be that third productive center. It hasn't happened and Hayes has also had a bad season. It didn't help that Frost was lost for the season four periods into his season.
Last year, the Islanders lacked a 3rd center to supplement Barzal and Nelson. They went out and got Pageau. |

It is their patented display of meaningless mojo. Repeated every year, pretty much. An enlargement of the usual last 2 mins of a game already lost.
Watch these guys go on a stirring run now, and pick around 20. |
