Prior to their outbreak, the Canucks were still one of the worst teams in the NHL. They had a 16-18-3 record, giving them a points percentage of 0.473 — 26th in the league — and their underlying statistics were equally bad.
At 5-on-5, the Canucks’ scored-adjusted corsi was 46.64%, better than just four other teams: the Red Wings, Columbus Blue Jackets, Arizona Coyotes, and Chicago Blackhawks. |

Can you imagine if the Canucks hadn’t beat Minny in the thingy and NJ was getting our first this year?
The year that they couldn’t possibly take a step back? |

Found out the Canucks system... Defense: cycle in your own zone and/or ice the puck. Offense: dump and chase/change, puck must go to the point, and no hitting. |

Whiners guild will spin it however they like. Bottom line was schedule was a factor as was the 30 day break plus injuries to the 'overrated' Petey . I guess we all expected a big comeback after that lol and especially after losing Benn.

I don't understand why our wingers don't play the point men tight and eliminate the D - for christ sakes we do this in beer league hockey easy enough to help mitigate the cycle and it works. Ive never yelled at the TV this much in my life. |

Top 5 pick is looking VERY real at this point. Lots of centres and defensemen available. Fawk its sad that the draft is the only thing to look forward too again. |

If they absolutely have to include a drop pass on the PP why isn’t it Hughes that is getting that pass. He’s the best puck handler, he would stand a better chance of gaining the zone with control. |
