He could never do the things that McDavid or Matthews do. But those are amazing plays a few times a game. Gretzky controlled the play a lot of the game. I mean, there not much time for anything else if you’re putting up that many points.
BTW, in those years he was +80, 100, 71. He was +465 for his career - Canada Cup
I'm not sure who the best of all time was, but Larry Robinson was +722! |

Stamkos was left off 2010 (coming off 51 goals and 95 points highest goal scoring Canadian and 2nd in points) - AdamFrench
I remember being pissed off that Russ Courtnall and Dirk Graham made Team Canada over Yzerman. Mike Keenan was the head coach and he hated Yzerman. Graham played for Keenan in Chicago. |

Man, those Habs teams were good. I was a Habs’ fan back then. Living in Ottawa those were the games we got and they were a delight to watch. |

They were preposterous. I was a 7-8-9 year old kid from 77 - 79, and a Leafs fan. I loved those Leaf teams with Palmateer, Sittler, McDonald, Salming, Turnbull, et al . . . you'd think they were good, and then along comes Montreal in the playoffs and SMUSH. Didn't even win a game over two consecutive playoff series. |

Quickly scrolling through my brain concatenated Robinson and Orr into Roy Orbison, so I scrolled back to double check and Roy Orbison was indeed not a +722 |

Little known fact: Roy Orbison played goalie without his glasses was a better goalie than Vesa Toskala*
* This fact may be disputed by sheeple who don't understand that the deep state controls all hockey stats |

If the Leafs aren’t able to hold onto first I don’t like their chances in any round of the playoffs even if they end up playing the Canucks. The team has been playing well. They’d have to fall apart pretty badly not to take two of the next four unless they decide to “aggressively” rest players. - Canada Cup
Magic number for the Leafs is 5.
Edmonton holds the first tiebreaker: wins in regulation. |

What I love is that if you look at the worst +/-'s...Rasmus Ristolainen is on pace to be the worst in NHL history. Already a smooth -161. 24th overall. |

My brother in law was team surgeon for the Oilers from the day they arrived in Edmonton. I got into the dressing room after a game against the Habs in December, 1979. They were celebrating like they just won the Cup cause they just beat the Champs 5-3. It was pretty cool. |
