If they can trade Backlund this off season I’d jump at it. He earns too much for what he contributes.
Like to see them sign Ryan again,2 years -1.5/
Who’s everyone like for the draft this year? Can’t believe Calgary and Vegas are the only 2 teams without a top 2 pick in any draft.
Looch waives his contract. Man I’m glad we got rid of Neal.
And the Seattle Krakan take from the Calgary Flames——————-?
Oliver Kylington! Yes? No?
Flames should sign Ritchie in the off season, he’s a perfect Sutter player.
Who’s going to backup Markstrom next year? Any ideas?
So some are thinking that Treliving is this sly GM hiding Mathew Phillips in the minors so Seattle skips over him. Is he really that smart? Is Phillips that good?

-I am in favour of moving backlund, especially if we resign Ryan. I don’t think there’s a market for monahan this off-season which means backlund is likely our 3C as of right now. I like the two way game that he brings but Ryan is perfectly serviceable on the PK, sutter has tried monahan in that role and lindholm is a pretty damn good 200 ft player. As far as trade value goes I think that backlund flys so under the radar that not many teams will value him as much as we do. For what I can only guess is the reasons Minnesota doesn’t want monahan they may be interested in backlund. Personally I think anything less than one of their firsts this year plus Rask’s contract would be an undersell. Minnesota fans probably wouldn’t agree with that but I would say trust us, back’s is better than you know.
-For the Draft, wishful thinking: guenther, Clarke.
Realistic: Lucius (probably my 1st choice), Mctavish.
Trade down/not the worst reach: caulemans, bolduc, L’heureaux, morrow(definitely would need to be a trade down.
Assuming we stay around the 7-11 spot outside of these names I would prefer a forward as I have confidence in our young LHD prospects
-Not saying I would protect him but if lucic’s contract was what he was worth I would have him on my team 7 days of the week.
-kylington is probably the best high risk/high reward player that should be selected. Outside of a few defensive mistakes (which come with his style of play) he has looked great this year and definitely should be in the lineup over Nestorov.
-yes to keeping ritichie on the condition that it’s league minimum and he’s played as a 12/13th forward he is. If sutter wants to play his as a top six all year then definitely not.
- For a backup G go to capfriendly’s armchair GM and take your pick for whoever you think you can get for 2 million or under. Personally I wanted to target Anton forsberg before the sens resigned him and I think he could still be available for trade if the sens only extended him for expansion implications.
- Phillip’s started off the year on fire but has cooled down. I give him a shot next year but it will likely be a make or break year for him.
