I used grownups rather loosely but it’s all relative. Grownups compared to calgary trash. Hopefully that makes more sense - CanuckDon

That one fits in loosely with, 7. other GM's make mistakes
I suppose I could amend it to, other GM's/Pres/Head Office's make mistakes. I get your gist. - Marwood
In all seriousness, you know in the past when some posters have used this excuse - "other GMs make mistakes too" I don't think it means "therefore Benning gets a pass or its acceptable" because its been interpreted as "just because THEY have herpes doesn't mean WE want herpes."
I think it's more along the lines of "if all GMs and coaches got fired based on the same mistakes JB/Green make - there would be like 5 teams with a coaches/GM employed."
There'd be a higher turnover rate than fawking Wendy's. |

That’s right at least 6 or 7 more weeks, depending on when B.C. opens up again. |

It's gonna start to get hot and muggy down there real soon!
Would you have to quarantine when returning to BC?

It doesn't matter haters going to hate. Reason are excuses and opinions factual.
On the flip side what's the over under on how long it takes for the hate to hit the new management/coaching group? |

It’s getting warmer here all the time. I was hoping to quarantine in Dons basement. |

i think this misses the point.
no one (or hardly anyone) has pointed to one mistake and said that the gm (or coach) needs to be fired because of it. rather, for most people, it's been an accumulation of mistakes. for others it's a disagreement over vision and the team's plan.
but by saying "other GMs make mistakes too," it looks at every issue in a vacuum.
other GMs makes mistakes too works on a singular level when you look at the issue in a vacuum but it doesn't work when you look at the "mistake" as a pattern.
the problem is that the "excuse" gets used every time because everything can be framed as a singular issue in a vacuum. |

Benning > Gorton
Pathetic that some even used to argue that fact, it shouldn’t have even been a debate. But glad that the people who preferred Benning are now officially vindicated |

it'll definitely be longer than the time for the slurpers to rebrand themselves as "objective on the fence sitters." "sure i saw the good in what benning was doing but it was time to move on." "he definitely was a great drafter but he had his mistakes so it's time to move on." "i only saw him as the builder type who would hand it off once the core was set so i saw it coming."
the slurpers rebrand is coming. be on the lookout. |

the interwebs are actually saying the opposite which is equally (if not more believable.)
rumour that they were fired (though they had it coming for the team's play) because they (davidson and gorton) went around the league disavowing the statement. the statement was apparently from ownership and not pres/gm. it got out that jd/gorton were calling other gms saying that the statement didn't come from them and they disagreed with it.
that seems as likely as them being fired because the nyr don't want to pay a fine but don't mind paying severance.
add another excuse to the list marwood: other teams have front office drama too. - RealityChecker
Ok, that's just as plausible. I don't have time for the inter webs today, other than this of course... |

I think the turnover of NHL executives is probably five times the average Wendy's. |
