Nothing wrong with that. We'd probably have to play them anyway in the 2nd round if the habs beat Edmonton. If the Habs do pull off the upset, we get to absolutely bury the Leafs fans with not make it past the 1rst round chirps. If they lose Bergevin is out the door (hopefully). |

Unless the Habs can figure out how to contain/kill Matthews like they did McDavid, or Price/Allen plays balls out? We drop round 1. Better chance against Edmonton, tbh. |

Eh, I certainly never said we're a favorite. They'd defintiely lose more than they win if they played 100 games against the Leafs, but they just need to play out of their minds for 4 games in a best of seven. We're an underdog but not a monumental one.
I agree the habs can beat edmonton, but whether we play the Leafs in the first or second round makes no difference imo. |

Honestly, the win-win I agree with. I've been waiting for this playoff series my whole life. I was too young to understand when they last played in the playoffs. The playoffs are different for sure. I hope the Habs come out on top. But unless they can shut down Matthews with a skeleton squad, I'm not sure our almost full team can. One game is all I ask. Just give. Me. Something. To quote Rick and Morty...

I think the hope is the full team is back by the playoffs, minus maybe Drouin who makes the team better by not being there. Price, Weber, and Tatar should hopefully be back. I guess Gallgher is questionable who is pretty important.

If we can get Gallagher, Weber, Price, and to a lesser extent, Tatar back, healthy and rested for the playoffs? That's a tactical advantage.
I disagree with the coach putting CC on the 1st line with Danault tonight, and it showed in his stats on the night. *Right Now*, he should be on the 2nd/3rd line, so he's not playing against top D minutes. Is he the best in a long time? Yes. Ready for 1st line? No.
(Assuming everyone is back...) Keep Tatar-Danault-Gallagher as line 1.
Lehkonen-Suzuki-Toffoli as line 2.
Armia-KK-Anderson as 3.
Byron-Evans-Perry at 4.
Thoughts? |

Is Caufield unable to be in because of the horrible (and complicated) taxi squad rules? If he can be in I'm sure as hell not putting Lehkonen next to Suzuki so he can (frank) up a beautiful feed from him. If Caufield can be in, I'm putting Toffoli on Suzuki's left and Caufield on the right. Byron and no Finnish Lehkonen fight for the 4th line LW spot. Or maybe Armia sits. He doesnt impress me either. |

Damn, I meant CC on line 2... Move the LW's or RW's down a line appropriately. My bad. |

at some point...the conversation must turn to the critical thinking of management to turn this team over to a new coach who is very good at salad mixing his lines....and?....otherwise another lackluster performance...no game in 2nd...no energy game....what an embarrassment last night. |

oh yeah and Mete 24+ minutes last night.......yup...we sure got rid of a "problem" with putting Mete on waivers...getting nothing back and Merril on D......what are his + - #'s again??? |

I may be entirely wrong, but my primary observation about Montreal is that their defence seemed too slow in clearing their own zone. You can't do much about the Formenton goal, he has elite speed, but it seemed to me the Montreal D was struggling all night with finding a comfortable space in positioning themselves at either end of the rink. |

Mete has looked really good in every game he has played for Ottawa. I think there is a very good chance he ends up in Seattle. |

He showed over and again he wasn't good enough to stay in Montreal's lineup and 30 other teams wouldn't even give up a conditional 7th for him. If that doesn't tell you how he is viewed then you're likely not going to get there. One game changes absolutely nothing |

Facts hurt dumb arguments. No team would give any value for the guy - that is a fact. Your argument is devoid of fact. But sure, throw Dale's name out there like it doesn't make your argument any less empty. The idea MB would rather waive a guy than get trade value for him exists in the age of stupid people wanting to believe stupid things to back their stupid agenda. Yes, I am calling you stupid if you believe that |

I think Ducharme wanted to play CC with Danault because Danault is more responsible and can cover for Caulfield.

Mark Barberio played with Colorado and they went 40-20-8.
