Both winning and losing can become habitual. I get wanting your players to be rested, but they've been struggling offensively for quite some time now. I get nervous about them taking the 'Don't worry, we'll turn it on when the playoffs start." stance.
It isn't always that automatic - keaner17
Well that’s all we got now. I guess it’s time to throw my prediction out the window |

That fire in GC yesterday was right where a lot of the Isles families live. Mayfield is a couple of houses away, Lee and Trotz less then a block away. A lot of those guys live in that area... I'm sure it rattled them before this game.

At this point I'll be happy if they split the last two games. |

At this point I’m just looking for some kind of continuity or positivity from any of the lines before the playoffs. I have lowered my demands and expectations |

I'm going to pull the fire alarm in the opponent's hotel the night before the games |

They don't even know what line they're playing on at this point. |

I am still positive about the playoffs. I have no idea why but I am. Trying to stay in that mind set... |

Since Palmieri and Zajac have 2 combined goals in 27 combined games.. maybe we should give Bellows another shot.. no? |

Totally agree. 4th place is a virtual lock at this point. http://playoffstatus.com/nhl/eaststandings.html |

Yup, based on the past 2 years of happy surprises, I am cautiously optimistic. However, those years we had Anders Lee playing, so I am tempering my enthusiasm. |

That trade is looking more and more like a disaster. Of course it's all really contingent on the playoff result. Had Anders been healthy, the addition of Palmieri would have been a great push (though undoable cap-wise). With Anders gone, it had a bandaid on a bullet wound kinda feel.
Meanwhile Hall has 12 points since he joined the Bruins. |

Yep beginning to think I was wrong and I mean very wrong about Palmieri. I wanted him here more then anyone else. I look at our first line with the rotation of sub par wingers and then look at Hall in Boston or Carter in Pittsburgh, Mantha in Washington and realize we’re in a far worse position since the trade deadline. It’s not palmieri’s fault of course but his individual performance is from bad to invisible. That’s not what I was expecting. He has not been good. |

Mayfield caught puck watching - keaner17
I believe that play also started with Mayfield failing to clear the zone. I think we'll be glad to have him when our probable first-round series with the Caps turns into trench warfare, but man, he's been really bad lately. |

Yeah, for an offensively challenged team full of third liners, adding a third liner may not have been our best course of action

I'll be honest, his presence in a series like that worries me too. All of those mistakes he's been routinely making this year, between bad penalties, turnovers and missed assignments will be backbreakers in a series against Washington or Pittsburgh.
Of course if he wants to break his Stick Over Tom Wilsons collarbone again I'm all for it. |

Soundtigers are announcing something tomorrow morning. May be a name change and maybe a move to the Coliseum. The latter would actually be kinda awesome. |

I'm not writing them off but I'm expecting a first round exit. They are just flat out bad right now. I hope I'm wrong. |

Yeah they are and it’s completely sensible thinking they’ll be out in the first round the way they look now. I just think they’ll snap out of it when they need to which I know isn’t exactly realistic. |
