It’s not forgone but his trade value will never be higher, and after next season he is due a big contract as a UFA. I am at the point I would rather trade him than Kakko or Kratsov for a center

It’s not, but financially it makes more sense to trade him than one of the younger guys. Buch has really hit his stride the past 2 years and developed as a leader as well as becoming a 3 zone player. Love the nasty he’s added to his game as well.
I hope they pass on Torts. I’m all for getting the most out of players but don’t see him as a great fit for this young roster. Also prefer the brand of hockey we have played the past few years.
