Did you really write a blog on every shift you think you saw Brett Murray take last night? Wow, that is some dedication...to making sure nobody reads your blogs besides a few dopes on here who will tell you great blog regardless to make sure your feelings aren't hurt.
Eklund,
This is what we get to look forward to from our next GREAT SABRES Blogger? Thanks. - Hatboro_Swords
You should’ve applied so we could all keep reading about how gmtm got a raw deal,
or how Dahlin should be moved to center |

The 2022 & 2023 draft could make losing Jack more palatable - jdfitz77

I feel that way too. But after the last decade and those words "well there's always next year" burnt into every Sabres fans brain. |

They could trade him for nothing and not be any worse. Indisputable. I’d be ok with Kreider and D’Angelo in return. Anything more is found money. Jack would fit right in over there and see why D’Angelo did not. - Hatboro_Swords

You have to have a back up plan.
When you have 3 Generational players come out in 22,23 its a good back up plan |

So we are supposed to hope they work out better than the 2 we drafted in the last 6yrs. It's worked out great for us so far. |

So we have sucked because of Eichel and Dahlin ?
As much as I groaned about not picking Draisatil, Reinhart has also turned out to be quite the hockey player.
Mitts looks great after some seasoning.
Cozens has shown well as a 19/20 year old.
Tanking was not the issue, it was building around those pieces that continue to be the issue |

The thing that bothers me is what they did with all those extra 1sts and 2nds during the rebuild. Asplund is the top contributor, and that's largely been over the last 2 months.

It’s also important to note that they probably don’t end up with Cozens if they had managed their assets better in the first place.
What if we had the appropriate coaching staff in place and played Reinhart in the middle previously ?
What if they traded Risto for Ehlers when they had the chance ?
Heck keeping the first rounder in the Lehner trade and selecting Samsonov (which was the rumoured pick if they had kept it) would put us in a better spot in regards to our goaltending situation.
It’s just one decision after the other just continuously shooting our selves in the foot. There is just so much to unpack we could go on for days.
I refuse to blame the two generational talents though that are the two lone bright spots on the roster. It’s not Eichel’s fault that he didn’t have Joe Sakic’s expertise in making moves at the professional level like Mackinnon has.
It’s not Eichel or Dahlin’s fault they haven’t drafted anything worth a squat for the most part outside of the top 10. |

The problem is as early as the Matthews draft it didn't make sense to tank. We've had teams move up from 12th to pick first, and 13th to pick second. When the team with the worst record has a ~50% chance to pick 4th(I know the odds changed yet again, but I know it's a better chance to move down) there's absolutely no point. |

I mean if Colorado doesn’t finish dead last they don’t end up with Cale Makar at 4.
The Sabres finishing 5th last in 2019 and moving back two spots still put them in a position for Cozens or Zegras.
There is still a benefit to it. |

Too many things there to dig into. Very few decisions made since Terry bought the team have worked out well. The fact that that it resulted in Adams as GM is very hard to believe.

Did I say that, we already have 2 on are team, we have not built a good team around them. So know we want to be bad for a few more years to get a couple more and hope they push us over the top instead of building a team around what we already have. It hasn't worked because of sh!tty team building, so hey let's just do it all over again, maybe if we're sh!tty for long enough will get lucky. |

I'm sure Colorado was thrilled to pick 4th. The fact that it happened to work has no bearing on the fact that they fell 3 spots in a sport where that makes all the difference most of the time, ask the Coyotes how they feel about 2015, and they only fell one spot. |

Coyotes could/should have taken Mitch Marner.
Before you say “revisionist history” there were many talent evaluators that had Marner ahead of Strome at that point.
They made the wrong pick, that’s due to having an inadequate amateur scouting staff not because tanking and having your choice at the 3rd best player in the draft is the wrong thing to do |

Three more generational players coming soon....so we will be up to around 5-6 generational players for this generation. |

Who said “we WANT to be bad....”
If we lose Jack, we will be bad
And having a lot of high end talent in these next 2 drafts could help mitigate losing Jack,
plus add some great young talent to our new core
