I'm honestly not sure what to do with it. I'm literally asking people who watch all of the league, which I stopped doing, is there a perfect defense men out there who is worthy of trading the number one pick for? How devastating could our top-pairing be if we find the right guy to put opposite 26?

At best, if we use the number one pick on a defenseman he's 3 years from being a top-pairing guy.

that's the whole idea with signing those to as a part of the top-four...it gives the team time to sort things out...maybe laaksonen will be better than fitz...maybe the opposite...maybe they'll both make it...maybe neither will

three years is a good length of time for where these young d-men are right now

I just can't see all the love for Joker, maybe I am the only one, but he can't keep opposing players away from the net, and it will only get worse when they put the whistles away in the playoffs (if we ever get there again). Can't count how many times he passed the puck point to point on the power play and passed it over the blue line. Weak soft D, and I am not seeing his huge offensive upside...

he's also had a career full of injuries not really interested in him...would rather overpay reilly for second-pairing lhd duties as he's really coming into his own (or at least it looks that way right now)
